What a first half between Roma and Genoa
You're watching it too? What a game Juric is having.
I am now sure that Roma are not title contenders especially when they are without Totti.
If Genoa can keep them at 0-0 then thats a great help for us. Great game though.
WTF, guys? I come here avoiding the Roma-Genoa match (recording it as I woke up late and will watch it later), think it's safe to come to the Juve-Palermo thread to read and post about Sunday's game, and we got play-by-play here about Roma-Genoa going on?? :wth:

Sorry swag, but at least you have not seen any results. All you know is that it's definitely worth watching.

Let's head over to the Serie A thread.

Thanks. I'm not pissed or anything -- just that it looks like we woefully fell off topic here in a way that's blowing the match I'm recording right now.

ROME (AFP) - The recent wave of crowd violence in Italy has hit away fans hard with only four grounds open to visiting supporters during Saturday and Sunday's first division programme.

The other six grounds have been hit with bans on travelling fans and at the San Siro in Milan for the Inter v Atlanta game, only Inter fans with season tickets who can prove they live in the Milan area will be allowed to enter the stadium.

The only four matches due to be played in front of away fans are Juventus v Palermo, Lazio v Parma, Reggina v Fiorentina and Udinese v Siena.

Ranieri targets top spot

Claudio Ranieri believes Juventus can close the gap on leaders Inter and challenge for the Scudetto despite a defensive reshuffle against Palermo.

“We have said since the start that this season will be far more entertaining and get even better the longer we can stick close to Inter. It is only right to look at the top spot more than fourth, because we always aim for the leadership.”

The Bianconeri hope to become the first Serie A side in history to take the title straight after promotion and are currently joint third just three points off the summit.

However, Juve face Palermo on Sunday evening without Jorge Andrade, Jean-Alain Boumsong, Zdenek Grygera and the suspended Giorgio Chiellini, as the Czech picked up a left thigh problem on international duty.

The important thing is that those who do play give their best,” assured Ranieri. “Domenico Criscito was revitalised by the Under-21 squad and did well at Parma in the second half when he was moved to central defence. I have choices and that is a good thing for a Coach.”

Raffaele Palladino, Mauro Camoranesi and Vincenzo Iaquinta are also fired up after international duty as Italy qualified for Euro 2008.

Pavel Nedved returns from a ban to bolster the midfield, while Tiago Mendes is finally beginning to show his worth.

Tiago is fighting back and for a month now I can see him returning to his potential. There are obviously players who don’t want to let go of their spot, but healthy competition only helps a tactician.

I have to choose for the good of the team, so those I leave out aren’t necessarily worse than others. Also mid-match I may have to change to go with the balance of the encounter, so those on the bench should feel ready and part of the side.”

Ranieri faces a difficult task against Palermo, although Juve are boosted by the fact their former star Fabrizio Miccoli has not yet recovered from injury.

Palermo are a dangerous squad who have picked up a lot of points on their travels and scored 10 goals,” continued Ranieri.

They are unbeaten in five and put in great performances against Genoa and Napoli. We will try to get maximum points fighting until the 90th minute and beyond, because they too tend to score in stoppages.”

Juventus squad: Buffon, Birindelli, Almiron, Zebina, Zanetti, Salihamidzic, Camoranesi, Iaquinta, Del Piero, Nedved, Belardi, Trezeguet, Criscito, Palladino, Nocerino, Molinaro, Tiago, Marchionni, Legrottaglie

damn right. Totti over-powered criscito, just imagine what amuari would do to him. This is our best bet:

    --sali---legro--zebina--molinaro--
    who was offside btw.
Doesn't change the fact that Criscito was owned but just wanted to point that out.

Ranieri better take tips from Moggi and bring a big checkbook to ensure the referees treat us fairly if he's got any hopes of that ever happening. :coffee:
