Ali,

Partially, you are correct, our perfomances on the field haven't been that impressive yet so far this season, but that doesn't mean we should be happy with how the ref's have been treating us, both things need to be improved, the performances AND the treatment from the ref's.

Legrottaglie: Jesus The Reason For My Good Form

Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie says that Jesus Christ is the reason for his incredible upturn in fortunes this season.

There were high hopes for Legrottaglie when he joined the club in 2003 from Chievo, however he had a nightmare first year in Turin making mistake after mistake.

After being sent out on loan to Bologna and Siena the 31-year-old returned last summer but was only a bit-part player in the Serie B promotion campaign under Didier Deschamps.

However since coming on as a substitute in the week four match against Roma this term, Legro has finally burst onto the scene and he has been a colossus alongside Giorgio Chiellini at the heart of the defence.

“Unfortunately Andrade got injured and the Coach decided to put me in defence. Chiellini and I are doing well and our understanding is growing,” said Legro.

“I have belief now. Every so often I look at the mistakes I used to make and I wonder how I could possibly make such errors.

“My head is different. I am more serene, calm and have responsibility. When Juve sent me to Siena, my team-mate Tomas Guzman opened my head.

Guzman talked to me about Jesus Christ and it changed my life, both in a general sense and also the footballing side of things. I am a different person.”

We need to press Palermo from the start this time, not waiting for one player to decide the match and not waiting for whole 45 minutes to wake up and create something. We have the home advantage and Palermo are easier to beat away from home. It is their home turf that gives them that extra motivation and power. Away from home I think we have a good chance of beating them because they could cramble under big pressure on their defense.

They are not that good that we should be afraid of them. They are not in the rang of Milan, Inter and Roma. So, I really expect 3 points here however I don´t expect an "easy" win by a big margin.

Oh and some of our players really need to give their best in this game.........

This ref bashing is really getting boring either we are good enough to beat Palermo soundly or we lose & figure out how we can beat them next time. Some members here know we are playing horribly at the moment & need urgent fixes. It's really pathetic to come cry about the ref when we can't even put up a decent display of flowing football.
Ok - Now flame me to death :D
I wont flame you. You're right by saying that our recent displays were not good enough.
In fact if we outplayed our weaker opponents (like Napoli or Parma) we would take three points in these matches no matter what the ref does.

But we're not outplaying our opponents, every match is a thight one, and having referees bitching us everytime makes us loose points. We'd have one point in Napoli, and three against Parma...

Cobolli said today that he was generally satisfied with the team, as he says that we would be close to Inter if it wasn't for the refs.
And, according to him, we can still improve, as the younger players are blending with the champions, and we don't play any european competition which will help us in the long run.

I'd say Nedved, Del Piero, Molinaro, Criscito, Grygera, Zebina, Almiron, Tiago and Nocerino have to show a lot more in order for us to challenge for the Scudetto.

Yeah, they're a nice team. They should have at least the same amount as Napoli got. If refs will not allow us to reach the top 4, let's at least help sympathic people to win these spots.
And Cagliari, after-all Cagliari isn't better than Palermo so lets hope Palermo will be awarded two and not one.

If we were playing Inter & leading by 3 goals & the ref helped them win then I would go nuts. Some of the wrong calls by the refs were quite close. Remember we have the luxury of viewing all of them in slow motion from a suitable angle & as many times as we wish. We are on the wrong end of the stick - hard luck. We just have to keep getting up & work harder.

We are not on the same rang with Milan, Inter & Roma atleast not yet. We are just from Serie B with a totally decimated team. Sometimes I swear we play worse than we did in B. But we are slowly building & getting good results. Although cobolli's statement today really shocked me. He seems secure in his own cocoon. There are matters to consider. DP & Neddy's age, Almiron & Tiago's failure to win a place in the starting XI, the lack of defenders and the lack of a creative midfielder.

I wont flame you. You're right by saying that our recent displays were not good enough.

Am just getting concerned that instead of concentrating on making improvements we are just shouting ourselves hoarse about refeering mistakes. I know they hurt us but don't tell me you didn't expect some sort of backlash. I surely hope this gives the players the motivation to go out there & perform against all odds. Alas our fitness coach only turns up a week before a big match & flys right back to his cozy mediterenean island right after the game.

I'd say Nedved, Del Piero, Molinaro, Criscito, Grygera, Zebina, Almiron, Tiago and Nocerino have to show a lot more in order for us to challenge for the Scudetto.
True especially Neddy & DP need to pull up. I cannot imagine how 1 year can make such a big difference in these two. Maybe just maybe serie B was a bite too large.

I can't disagree about Del Piero's performances...though it's not as many are describing it, still he has to improve.

But something Ranieri and people should know here is that the way and the systam we're playing our game isn't any good for Del Piero. Del Piero is the kind of player who needs someone like Camoranesi next to him.... To open the game, play some nice passes, one touch etc.

You can't field Del Piero upfront and play the 4-4-2 with crosses and long balls expecting him to be Kanoute on each ball. Thats not his style. He needs someone like a playmaker behind him.

If Nedved or at least Palladino is moved into a playmaker role behind the attackers, Del Piero would surely performe better than his prev games. Thats for sure.

True, but no matter how you look at it, the points we deserved are gone.
I do agree not all calls are/were or will be easy for refs and that is exactly why (and it might sound boring to some) I feel tv-images should be used during the match for decisive (goal/no goal or penalty/no penalty) moments, surely with digital tv everywere, it can't cause much delay.

I see your point but what I don't understand is how come both DP, Neddy and the whole team can seem so tired even at the beginning of some matches. Is there something wrong with our fitness coach? Remember players like Zola & Di Canio were running all over the place with so much energy at end of their carriers.

Tv replays sounds enticing but imagine football being interrupted after every foul to ascertain if it was :
a) a foul
b) a yellow card offense
c) a red card offence
d) a crime against humanity :D
You get my drift. Introduce them & they might just creep into the game.

Del Piero requested a fitness coach. Don't know what the mang decided about that.

As for Pavel I'll have to disagree, I've never seen someone at his age running and moving alot with soo much stamina and believe me I'm not exaggerating. Sometimes I keep my eye on him on the pitch when even the ball is playing at diff direction you can see him running more than others. He's incredible.

One more thing maybe not related is that I admire the quality of our attackers... Trezeguet is one of the best finishers, Palladino is still young and he's very talented, Del Piero no need to explain, and Iaquinta is the kind of player who runs like crazy put pressure on our opponents.

I admire them all, each player is diff and thats what I like. So I wouldn't mind to see one day both Palladino and Iaquinta playing from time to time.

That's not needed. You would just use TV replays in case of a dubious goal (ball entered goal or not) or a penalty.

This way you barely stop the match. Just like it's done with rugby.

It's all about the expectations we have. Pavel and Alex were our best players in Serie B and therefore I'd say their performances this season have been disappointing. Had they been unknown and recently promoted from our primivera, you'd see us praising their performances.

If you compare the Pavel of yester year & the Pavel of today there is a huge difference. Pavel has set a standard by himself & I was judging him by that standard.

I know it's not needed but once you inch in the replays there will be no stopping them. On the other hand swearing at the ref is just as much part of the fun for me :D. Am sure you can tell am against them but I see your point.
