Forza Momo. He covers so much ground, and his tackling is very accurate, especially when your consider he reaches in from risky positions sometimes. He was easily our best midfielder today, and although a few of his passes were off, it wasn't anything noteworthy. His passing is simple and effective, and considering his role in the squad, its exactly how it should be. I dont think his passing is as bad as its made out to be. He has alot more time and room to look for a pass than he did in England.

Ranieri should field the trident for the rest of the season. Iaquinta offer's a dynamic to our attack that is not covered by ADP or Trez. ADP is our creative force, Trez our predator, and Iaquinta are powerful center forward. He is a pain for defenders to mark with his speed and strength, and his constant pressure on defenders causes them to make mistakes. Quit tinkering Ranieri and start him. Against good teams, we will need our best players on the pitch, and playing Nocerino as a right mid instead of fielding a trident with Iaquinta which offers us all the benefits I noted above, is foolish.

Oh, and one more thing.

The ref generally called for a cautious game, which was good in light of the last match-up between these two that went off the rails in a hurry because of liberal referee calls.

But Rocchi was particularly guilty of one missed call on something that should have never been allowed on the pitch: Roberto Sosa's haircut. That has to be the worst haircut running in Serie A today. The mullet that even Cassano would spit on. Sosa deserved at least a yellow card on the grounds of ignoring professional decency and good taste with reckless abandon.

Apart from the freekicks, what I noticed today is that Ale is always marked by at least two players. The same thing was in the prev game. He's always marked well, and I must say that he'd doing pretty well getting rid of them by returning to the midfield and changing his position and style.
It has been noticeable in the last couple of weeks how heavily he has been marked.

On the plus side, it makes room for others to be more effective.

here's my take on todays match

i watched the match and all i can say is that i was not impressed. we played 87 minutes of sub-par football and didn't take full advantage of some easy scoring opportunities.

yes, i'll take 3pts any day over anything else, but at the end of the day we're still +10pts behind inter, so big fucking whoop

forza juve
