October opens at Delle Alpi with “Italy's derby” between Juventus and Inter, the two clubs on top of the table,. They're on top not only for the ranking: Mancini's side, at the start of this season, has seemed to be the best equipped club among Juventus's competitors. It's a good step ahead compared to last season when Inter started with brakes on and, partly because of the unbelievable series of draws (18 as a whole), they soon got cut out from the title race.

The squad has been reinforced this year with the Portuguese midfielder Luis Figo, at his first Italian experience after playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid. Beside the former “galactico”, the talented new-comers Pizarro and Solari give new strength to the attack, while the defence can lean on the solid Samuel. Changes have been made between the two posts too: Toldo has been replaced by Julio Cesar, coming from Chievo.

The 2004/2005 attack, with striker Adriano and the Nigerian Martins, on the contrary, has been confirmed. New signings have improved the technical level of the team who, despite losing the “Renzo Barbera” tournament by 3-2 in Palermo at the start of the season, won the other four matches, proving they have strengthened defence without losing efficiency in attack: the ten goals scored compared to the three conceded are a clear evidence. If Inter have regained the smile on their faces, Juventus have never lost theirs: the Bianconeri have been on top of the table from the beginning of last season and have started the new one with a winning series of five consecutive wins.

Results have come with persuading performances, acknowledged as being of top technical, temperamental and tactical level, and which have coincided with prestigious individual objectives: from the over 100 goals scored by Trezeguet in his Juventus career to coach Capello’s 600 benches, to Del Piero’s 300 appearances in Serie A wearing the Juventus outfit. Also, the captain is aiming at becoming the most prolific scorer in the Juventus history. Alex is at 176 goals, the record is 179: the race goes on… and maybe with Inter too.

"We start as equals on Sunday. Inter have many qualities, like us after all; you can't say who is the strongest, it depends on the day..on how we've slept at night". Pavel Nedved can't find a favourite in the big match against the Nerazzurri; in fact, if Juventus are even more persuading than they were last season, Mancini's squad is maintaining a top performance: "I don't know if Inter have strengthened, they're certainly a well equipped team. In the last matches played against them in Turin we created more occasions but it was them who took the three points home, I wish things go the other way round this time.

Are we stronger than last year? Well, we have not won anything yet. Before making comparisons, we must try to be as successful as last season. What we have to do is never lose humility. We must play like smaller clubs, with that attitude of ours that has always been our strength." Many look at the match against Inter like a sort of Final; in fact, should Juventus win, Capello's lads would increase their advantage up to 6 points: "I wish this could be already a final! This will only be a match in the championship, no matter how important it is and there will be many others like this".

On Sunday night, the two attacks in the best shape in Serie A are going to meet and you can’t help thinking about a virtual challenge between Ibrahimovic and Adriano but Pavel doesn’t like this kind of comparisons: “I don’t like challenges within challenges. Two teams are meeting on Sunday, not two players. Zlatan is very important to us, that’s true, especially for his physique. I wish I could have his muscles! He knows how to defend the ball like few others can and allow the squad to attack, like Koller does with my International team, although Ibrahimovic is more technical. Besides him, anyway, Juventus have many good forwards, to the extent that you can’t talk about first-choices and substitutes: the turnover is important to win and it’s not true that coach Capello applies it only depending on the opponents we’re facing. He watches us training everyday and he chooses those who are in the best shape.”

Cordoba's so fast sometimes he just can't stop himself from crashing into an oncoming defender. That's why he comes across as violent; careless would be closer to the mark I guess.
CLUMSY is the correct description for Cordoba.

For Materazzi the words are EVIL, PREMEDITATED and DANGEROUS.

Juventus win the big match against Inter thanks to great determination and caution. The two winning goals are signed by Trezeguet and Nedved. Capello’s team takes home the sixth win out of six matches and they are proceeding at full score.

Italy’s derby takes place under the pouring rain but surrounded by a warm support worth of one of the most eagerly awaited matches of the championship. It’s a much struggled match. After 3 minutes, Nedved tries to surprise Julio Cesar with a free kick but the ball gets past the post. Figo replies on 19’ minutes, again on a free kick, but Abbiati saves. On 22’ minutes, Capello’s side takes the lead: Ibrahimovic’s free kick is hit back by the goalkeeper but Trezeguet is well positioned in front of the net and drives the ball back in (1-0). The Delle Alpi bursts into joy, with plenty of cheers for the Frenchman, who scored his 102nd goal for Juventus. One minute later, Ibrahimovic tries to beat Julio Cesar with a shot from the downfield area but it gets out. Inter tries again on 32’ minutes with Figo on a free kick but Abbiati saves once again; following the action, the ball gets to Adriano but Vieira anticipates him in the area, vanishing the Nerazzurri’s attempt in attack. Juventus get more and more in control of the match, being cautious in defence and dangerous in attack. On 34’ minutes, they double the score: a great free kick from the edge of the box for Nedved and the ball gets in (2-0). On 37’ minutes, Abbiati counters Martin’s attempt on goal, assisted by Adriano, then Blasi takes the ball away from the Bianconeri’s area. After 43 minutes, Juventus keep attacking: Ibrahimovic is brought down very toughly by Materazzi, he seems to go out at first but resists and remains on the pitch. Meanwhile, Nedved shoots a free kick but it gets deflected into the corner by the wall. Vieira follows the corner shot by the Czech but the goalkeeper clears his header. Ibrahimovic tries to resist but he just can’t continue to play and makes way to Del Piero.

The start of the second half is hard-fought. Thuram, who had had some muscular problems during the week, must leave the pitch. Kovac replaces him, on Cannavaro’s side. On 11’ minutes, Inter attempt on goal with Adriano’s free kick but the ball gets high over the crossbar. Few minutes later Capello loses Trezeguet too and replaces him with Zalayeta. On 23’ minutes, Recoba’s free kick is cleared in the corner by Abbiati who repeats himself on 34’ minutes with Martins’s drive. Two minutes later, Del Piero’s free kick ends high over the crossbar.

He finally found the way out from the rainforest.
If u look at the time when he posts the Nedved article (assuming that it is a pre-match comment), the game ended in 10 minutes.

“We’ve achieved a good result, we increased the advantage over Inter in the table up to 6 points and this allows us to work with more tranquillity; however, we’ll have to be able to maintain humility because the championship is very long”. Fabio Capello doesn’t easily give way to enthusiasm after the exciting win over Inter but he still want to praise his lads for the fantastic performance: “We’ve played a great match, giving proof of determination and team spirit; the midfield was fundamental during the first half: Vieira and Emerson did a splendid job but all, in fact, from Abbiati to the rest, showed their worth. If you don’t play with such determination, you just can’t win matches like this”. The Bianconeri took their revenge over Inter, who had won the last few matches at the Delle Alpi. “It was important to win as Inter won the last three matches they played in Turin and we had to change course; we did so with a great performance, thanks to our quality and team spirit and we proved to be a real team.”

“The coach had asked us to play with determination and do our best. We did so, playing a good match, especially in the first half.” Pavel Nedved left his mark on the win over Inter, with a generous play but above all with a splendid free kick that doubled the advantage: “I had tried to do the same a few minutes earlier, again on a free kick and I thought I could score but the ball turned round too much and ended out. I shot it better the second time and I successfully hit the target”. Pavel’s first goal of this championship means a lot: “Yes, this win is fundamental even if it comes at the start of the season. We’ll have the Champions League later on and these three points will allow us to concentrate more on the other engagements and face the championship more easily.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was examined today in the afternoon. As resulting from the visit, his left knee is reportedly slightly swollen and aching on the injured part. The player will join Sweden’s International team to their training camp, supposedly tomorrow, Thursday, October, 6th.

In the meantime, a report has been sent to his International team’s doctor saying that, during the next few days, the player will have to follow a different training schedule. Therefore, according to Juventus Football Club’s medical staff, Ibrahimovic won’t be able to play the match against Crotia on Saturday, October, 8th. His appearance in the following match against Iceland, scheduled on Wednesday, October, 12th, is still in doubt.
