Zanetti,Chiellini,Camo,Iaquinta & Palladino were the only descent players on the field.

I though this will be Neddy & Dp match buy I was very dissapointed.

The thing is that we expect it from Gigi.

This game showed that Chiellini has stepped up a level. For me he has gone from a player with the potential to be great, to a great player.

To deal with a forward as good as Ibra, as well as he did, is outstanding.

Way to overrate someone's performance. Buffon was good but not brilliant. All of the saves he made he was expected to make. Suazo and Ibrahimovic shot straight at him and if Cambiasso had been onside when he scored it would've been Buffon's fault for not holding Chivu's free kick.

Chiellini and Zanetti were better.

the lads should be happy and they deserve to celebrate, they did a good job and showed a lot of heart and went blow for blow with a team that is unfortunately far superior to us

As for the match, some remarks.


1- Why are our first halves always so bad? Terrible against Empoli, shaky at least today... We wake up in the second half but it was too late this time.

2- If we need to invest on players, it's on fullbacks. We all hold our breath when then ball comes close to Molinaro, Grygera, Zebina and Birindelli. They are not good enough! Inter had Chivu and Maicon, we had Grygera and Molinaro. That was the greatest difference between these teams tonight.

3- Camo. I am so happy for him that he scored, he showed something we lacked, passion, speed, creativity.

4- Gigi. Another . Saved our ass 2-3 times. Best Keeper in the world. If Inter had him it would be 0-3

5- Palladino and Chiellini: homemade pure talent. I hope they keep it up, these kids can make it to Juve legends. Giorgio is already our main defender, a rock! Raffaele proved he can be great on both right and left.

6- Many people criticized the offside trap we had (mainly 1st half) and which cost us a goal. I think Ranieri trained the trap a lot (and it worked well), but it wasn't the plan to use it all the time. It was bound to fail just once, and Cruz is the man to it. In the second half we used it less, I think Ranieri send that straight in the locker room.


Still, Inter were the better team. And I am somehow happy with a point.

Great match overall. Beautiful showcase for the Calcio.

No, he was owned by Inter's defenders all game long. He took the free kicks and he was in a clash (twice) he lost (and felt asking for a peno) and that's why you get the impression he was good.
Del Piero and Nedved are past it and they stood no chances against Inter's defenders. They will always be Gods for Genoa, Siena or Empoli, but for these matches where we're up against rocky defenses what we need is Iaquinta, Palladino and Camoranesi. We need speed not someone as slow as Del Piero.

Though, it's very hard to put Del Piero on the bench. He's still a genius and he can always score from a free-kick or make some brilliant through pass to put us back in the game. But for a physicall match he's very weak and as we've seen tonight, he gets owned against good defense.

How did he get owned? When he had the ball he used it well. His passes were good, as was his control but he didn't get much service from our midfield which was quite inept before Camoranesi's introduction. I don't see how Del Piero got owned. It wasn't his best game but he wasn't bad either. Subbing him was a good move but it also made sense to start him.

I said Dp had a very bad match coz I expected more from him & Neddy,they suppose to make the difference,Trezy didnt do anything but that was okay becoz he didnt had any chance to do anything as for Dp & Neddy,I expectes them to play with more hunger & spirit & fight on every ball & play the match of their lives but the dissapointed me.
Vicenzo & Camo came in & after 2 or 3 min, they started to make the difference & fought on every ball,got love Iaquinta's spirit but still GIGI was by far my MOM today,

Super-Sub Camoranesi Rescues Juve

Juventus 1-1 Inter

Mauro Camoranesi came off the bench to rescue a point for Juventus in a fiery Derby d'Italia against Inter at the Stadio Olimpico.

Inter had looked all set to move four points clear at the top of Serie A after Julio Cruz had given them a 1-0 lead just before the break.

However Mauro Camoranesi scored just seven minutes after coming on as a substitute to earn Juventus a 1-1 draw, and keep them within touching distance of tehir bitter rivals in the league standings.

Juventus were boosted by the return of the suspended Giorgio Chiellini, Nicola Legrottaglie, Pavel Nedved and Antonio Nocerino. All four players took their place in an attacking 4-3-3 line-up, with Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and Raffaele Palladino up front.

Inter were without injured first-team players Marco Materazzi, Patrick Vieira and Dejan Stankovic, but Julio Cesar recovered from a back injury to take his place in goal. Julio Cruz won the race to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic up-front.

The match was delayed by 15 minutes as the Inter team bus was late arriving at the stadium. Inter had the first shot of the game as Esteban Cambiasso fired a long-range shot over the bar.

Juventus then had a glorious chance as Del Piero held the ball up for Cristian Zanetti, whose shot from eight yards was deflected around the post.

Ibrahimovic was getting booed every time he touched the ball and there was a large roar from the crowd when Cristiano Zanetti took the ball off him in the centre of the field.

Inter launched a dangerous move on 11 minutes and Chiellini made an excellent sliding tackle to cut out Cesar's dangerous cross. Luis Figo, who turned 35 today, then ran rings around Molinaro on the right and his evil cross was superbly dealt with by Buffon.

Nedved was looking busy early on and he cut inside Maicon and fired a potshot wide of the post. The Czech veteran was then offered acres of space to run into but he blazed the ball well over from 30 yards.

In the midway point of the half, Del Piero almost caught Julio Cesar out at his near post with a free-kick from the right, but the Brazilian was on his toes.

Nedved did not have his shooting boots on and wasted a promising counter-attack opportunity by blasting another long-range effort into the stands. Most of Juve's efforts were coming from distance and Del Piero tried his luck with another free-kick but Julio Cesar watched it go wide.

Down the other end Figo whipped in a cross right along the six yard box but none of his Inter colleagues were able to profit.

Inter then took the lead completely out of the blue. Legrottaglie lost concentration and allowed Cruz to make a run in behind him and the Argentine chested down Cesar's chipped pass and buried his finish past Buffon.

Two minutes later Ibrahimovic had a glorious chance to make it two but he delayed too long and allowed Chiellini to tackle him. The Juventus players were furious as they felt the Swede was offside.

Into the second half and the first real sniff of a chance came after 50 minutes when Del Piero saw his left foot shot charged down by Cordoba. Trezeguet then wasted an excellent opening as Palladino cut the ball back to him on the edge of the area but he badly hashed his shot over the bar.

Juventus were completely dominating the possession as Inter seemed happy to sit back and hold on to their lead.

Esteban Cambiasso had the ball in the back of the net on 58 minutes after following up Cristian Chivu's free-kick but he was correctly ruled offside.

Juve boss Claudio Ranieri knew he had to increase his team's attacking options and on the hour mark he threw on Vincenzo Iaquinta for the tiring Nedved.

Ibrahimovic then had a golden opportunity to kill the game as he found himself alone with Buffon after a fortunate ricochet came off substitute David Suazo - however the Azzurri number one beat away his effort. Chiellini then made a superb last-gasp tackle to prevent Maicon in a dangerous situation.

Camoranesi also entered the fray and made an immediate impact as his chipped through-pass ended up with Trezeguet's header being finger-tipped over the bar by Julio Cesar.

Buffon came to Juve's rescue again on 72 minutes as he slid across his line to save Suazo's point-blank effort. The Honduran had another shot seconds later but this time it was more comfortable for Buffon.

Juve were pushing everyone forward and on 77 minutes they earned an equaliser to send the crowd wild. Iaquinta nodded Palladino's cross back to Camoranesi and the substitute fired in a shot from 12 yards which deflected past Julio Cesar.

Inter tried to respond and Cesar wasted an excellent opportunity when he handled Ibrahimovic's through ball to him.

The Swede had played a poor game and had convincingly lost his battle with the rock-solid Chiellini. The Juve defender was dishing out some real rough treatment on his former team-mate every time he went in for a challenge. He first launched himself into a ferocious slide tackle on the striker and then really layed into him during an aerial challenge.

The Bianconeri sensed a chance for a famous win and another substitute Jonathan Zebina crossed for Iaquinta who saw his effort superbly blocked by Samuel inside the area.

As the final whistle blew Chiellini continued to taunt Ibrahimovic, presing right up to his face and smiling and sneering at him. The Swede, who had not reactd up until that point finally lashed out at the defender, striking him in the face with his arm.

I don't think Grygera is good enough. He does the job against small teams, sure, but he's no upgrade to Zebina.

What people see him in I don't know. He was never great for Ajax, they didn't try to keep him, and we get him on a free?

True about Buffon. I think I would go for Camonaresi as my MOM. The way he glided over Inter players was pure joy to watch. Neddy & DP should be phased out. Today has been a turning point for me - I never liked Iaquinta much. Always thought he was too dramatic & a cry baby maybe it was because in Udinese he was the one. Now I see a different Iaquinta - He fights, hustles & works hard. I am now an admirer of Iaquinta. Forza Vincenzo.

And kudos Iaquinta.
He was one of the guys who deserve special mention.
With his physicall strenght, with his speed and with being tall and good in the air, it was 5 times harder for Inter to clear the high balls in their box.
With Del Piero-Trez they had absolutely no problems to close Trez and we had no one to pressure them in the box.
If we didn't have Iaquinta we would have never scored this kind of goal. That cross Palla sent would have been cleared by closing Trez, while our second attacker (in this case Del Piero) wouldn'tt have had any chances to get that ball.

Ranieri should really start thinking about Trez-Iaquinta partnership for our tough matches.

Nocerino 6.5 (inexperienced as well, too much passion. Leave that to the fans. Collected an unnecessary yellow, but had a decent game in the middle of the park)
Zanetti 7 (helped Nocerino. His presence made sure they didn't dominate the middle. Deprived cowface of vital service)
Palladino 6 (ran his legs off. A star of the future)
Nedved 5 (disappointed. I never dreamt I'd live to see the day I'd be glad to see him hauled off the pitch. Unnecessary booking)
Del Piero 5.5 (started brightly, faded out. His age showed)
Trezeguet 5 (scoffed the clear chance he had. Almost invisible)

Iaquinta 6.5 (injected needed pace to our forward line when he came on. Showed a lot of passion even though he wasn't part of the Juve setup that Inter shafted)
