Neddy was the only man fighting (literally) up until the last and i mean the last second for this victory, this man was everywhere, defending every single chance Genoa had and starting by his own some desperate counterattacks to stall as much more time as possible, its players like Neddy and Camo that allow us to win games like that. Since he was fighting all alone he became pretty much physical by the end of the game and he had to suffer some pretty tough fouls, unnoticed by the ref, his retaliation was noticed though and thats how he took the yellow card and the second time the red one. This man will sacrifice everything for the team, i m sorry some of our very own fans failed to see that...
We will see how much our team will suffer without such a player at the next match...

DP got tired and couldnt help much on creating counterattacks and fast sprints,
since Trezequet wasnt involved much and Salih had a passive role too, someone should help Neddy for this task, some fresh feet were required for this job and the criterion for the sub out was speed and stamina, our Captain did his duty and was the logical choice...

Zanetti and Nocerino had to work double time and defend for DP,Treze and Salih,
sometimes they had to do whatever necessary to stop our adversaries, even an "illegal" de-possession of the ball, (i have to admit though Nocerino's wasnt that smart, neither tactical wise, either physical wise)

We were not actually that bad, i have seen much much worse games from Juve this year, we were more mature than Genoa, we trusted our strength and as long the results are gathering up, our confidence grows, it is amazing to see the authority our defenders had today, they had the eyes of the tiger,
the "we will beat anyway, want or not" look on their faces.
Today our defense showed some guts for a change and i have to applaud that!!

Our attack wasnt that deadly today and thats, the only thing that make you guys complain, if we were as deadly as before and have scored more goals,
then nobody would complain...

Maybe ur right, but also we shouldn't foget how nervous Nedved was and maybe refferee thought that Neddy elbowed on purpose and still not to mention that Nedved didn't complained about red card. He simply lost his nerves and I kow he is a great player but something weird is happening to him, cuz he is not the old-good Neddy we all know.
Referee should call what he sees not what he think happened..

Nedved did not complain becasue in his shoes I wouldn't have complianed if the ref gave him a yellow for trying not to hit another player ofcourse when he participate in such a ball in the air with another player he'll get a red. He knew it was pointless to argue. Maybe it was a harsh jump, but definately did not deserve a straight red, not a even a second yellow.

I will agree that perhaps the best thing Ranieri did all day was sub Del Piero. Not for his play, but rather for how his combative nature on the pitch was becoming counterproductive and risking an ejection.
That's a bit harsh IMO. Either way, Palladino should have come in sooner.

Or he didn't reacted cuz he knew he will hit him :D Now seriously I didn't saw Nedved that much pissed for a long time, yellow card pissed him too much, he seemed like a mad man and even Nocerino tried to calm him down.

very interesting stats. Source?

Do u have any for Inter?
I don't have a source.
Just go to www.juventus.com and to www.acmilan.com and search for the match reports.
Here are some examples :
http://www.juventus.com/it/news/detail.aspx?lml_language_id=0&trs_id=1606000&ID=12443
(look at AMMONITI)
http://www.acmilan.com/LM_Match_Cronaca.aspx?idIncontro=1983
(go through the match report and look for the yellow card or red card image)

I will now look for Inter and Roma

Del Piero's run to get the chip was class, he read it so well and the finish was just perfect.

I want to just mention one thing about Buffon. The commentator said something about him that I agree with a lot, it's that Buffon has not only good reflexes but he reads the situations very well. He knows what to do because he knows what will happen and thus he can control his reflexes accordingly. I think this is what makes him special.
Yes yes yes.

I'm kind of getting tired of prasing Buffon all the time, but can't help it really, the guy's perfect in goal :toast:

Regarding Nedved's red.

Any1 catch the Empoli/Milan game? Any1 remember Ambrosini's mid air body checks late in the 2nd half? There 2 of them, and he didn't get shit.

The good news is that we came away with another win...and we'll definitely take them where we can get them !!

This Serie A season is very balanced, and it seems like just about any team can pull a shock victory out of the hat (Empoli), or come up with an unexpected draw (Napoli).

Our game with Genoa lived up to the expectations of a tense, hard fought game, with little to separate between both teams.

For the most part, I liked our play in the first half. We showed some speed and good passing ability as we moved the ball forward. The only thing about the first half that started to annoy me is when we would try to force the long-ball. Genoa wasnt falling for it, and we never had any luck with it.

I thought Genoa was the better team in the second half...all we did was try to make the long ball work, and end up giving them the ball on every attempt. This has happened in the second half of many of our games, and I'm still not sure if its just our guys running out of steam, or RUINeri telling our guys to sit back, and hold the lead. Our team is really missing a good midfield playmaker (Riquelme for Tiago come January !!)

Either way, if Genoa were a little more clinical in front of the net, we wouldnt have taken 3 points from this game...we may have none. This has to change, or we will be in some serious trouble.

My Ratings:

Buffon - 7 - Another good performance...made some good saves, and his positioning is always perfect. I saw the look on his face when DP missed a free kick from way out midway thru the second half- priceless !!:D

Grygera - 6 - He was good both defensively and coming forward in the first half. He had a few good crosses...seemed to stay back in the second half

Legrottaglie - 6 - He was decent, I didnt really see him do much wrong. He read the game pretty well

Chiellini - 6.5 - He was our best defender. He is aggressive and plays like a guy who has always been a CB. A few too many high elbows from him today though

Molinaro - 5 - He was pretty anonymous in the first half, but decided to announced his arrival in the second half with a boneheaded play that almost cost us a goal, with a misplaced back header. He continued this trend by forgetting how to defend after that. Not Juve material

Salihamidzic - 5 - Has pace...and thats about it. Terrible long balls and crosses, which did absolutely nothing for us

Nocerino - 6.5 - Aggressive and all over the midfield. I cant ask much more from this ball winner.

Zanetti - 5.5 - Where he has been our most solid player in many of our games, today he was a bit anonymous. He made a few nice plays, then seemed to diasppear.

Nedved - 6 - He never stopped running, and was all over the place. He had a nice cross to DP for the goal. Trez needed more help with service, but Neddy couldnt provide it. Lost his cool at the end, resulting in a red card... which should have been avoided

Del Piero - 7 - My MOM. He carried the team today with his ball-skills, shooting, and endless amount of energy. He showed some real strength out there today (Zeman would say he shot a needle in his ass pre-game :p ). He proved the doubters and haters wrong today !!

Trezeguet - 6 - He got terrible service...most of the damn long-balls were either well short, or just way the fuck off. Cant blame him if he never gets the ball

Subs:

Palladino - 6.5 - For the short time he was out there, he made his presence known. He was the only player trying to use some ball control

Almiron - NR - Not on long enough to be rated

Coach:

Ranieri - 4.5 - What was the gameplan, score 1 goal and then defend....and hope to sink them with a longball ?? Lucky we survived the second half. His subs were poor...Neddy should have been replaced, not DP (Neddy ran like hell and was gassed by the 60th minute). Leaving Brazzo out there was another dumb move, he did nothing constructive the entire game. The red card was just the icing on the cake for a perfect afternoon for RUINeri...Jose, can you hear me ?? :eyebrows:
