Waiting for Sunday night
The long break for the National team games now archived, it's time to concentrate on the League again. Criscito (who already came back Wednesday after playing with Italy's Under 21), Chiellini and Nocerino (who played Italy's friendly last night) are back at Claudio Ranieri's disposal, so the Manager can begin preparing the next League game in more detail.
Sunday the Bianconeri will play the 8th round's evening game, at the Olimpico, against Genoa, a team full of former Juve players: as many as six in the squad, five of whom grew up in Juventus' youth sector, plus, most of all, obviously, Manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who began his career coaching Juventus' youth team. Milanetto, Sculli, Konko, Masiello and Paro all grew up at Juve and Marco Di Vaio also played for the club.
The match comes exactly six months after the last one between the two teams. On April 21, Juventus won 3-1 with goals by Nedved, Chiellini and Trezeguet, and made a decisive leap towards promotion. The last matches in Serie A were played during the 1994/95 season, the one when Lippi won his first Scudetto and the team from Liguria were relegated: at the Delle Alpi it finished 1-1 (with Galante scoring a controversial goal) and 0-4 at the Ferraris stadium.
The match will be played at night, which is a bonus for Ranieri's men: Juventus have won three out of three at night at the Olimpico, beating Livorno, Reggina and Torino in the derby.
