come on, Iaquinta and Grygera look like they are great signings, and i'm sure Criscito will turn out to be a good one.

Andrade was solid but was a risky transfer.

Nocerino although not really a signing has been good too!
ya ok grygera was a free transfer so i didn't count that.
but we paid way to much for andrade and i think we should have bought someone who isn't injured that much. and almiron and tiago are just :faq2:
sali was also a free transfer but how can he play like this for 90min?
criscito did not impress me till now but he's young and will have a great future but we did not pay much for him.
so it is just iaquinta (he was good sofar but not really impressiv)

but it was bad officiating overall by that ref and his crew
True that
I've never seen Ranieri lose his temper and yell on the refs. Tonight the referee and the linesmen didn't make some unforgiveable mistake but they made at least 30 mistakes and most of these were in Genoa's favour.
Every round there are 2 or 3 refs who shouldn't officiate even a regional match in Croatian leagues. Only God knows how did they find themselves in serie A.

Do none of you remember that Zambrotta, as good as he was, was absolute shite at crossing the ball? Every ball went a solid 10-20 metres past the 2nd tier of the delle alpi
Zambrotta delivered much better crosses than Salihamidzic.

first of all thank God we got away with the 3 points from this game, as i said before in the fiorentina game, we are still playing like a serie B team , just accept it guys. we don't control the game anymore. we play some sort of 9-0-1 formation we every player defend as if we are playing missing 2 players. for godsake i am sorry to say this guy but even last year's team is much stronger than this team. i have been supporting juve for 15 years and this is by far the worst performance. it's time to bench Nedved, it's obvious his age is catching up, he deserved to be sent off actually he was asking for it. there is only 3 posative things in todays game.
1. 3 points.
2. Dp scored.
3. Nedved sent off so he will miss next game.

i think Buffon is really start wondering why did he signed anew contract. this team needs many changes. this team needs Mourinho
I really don't inderstand you :disagree: First you0ve said that this is the weakest team we had in last 15 years and that we need to change our coach :disagree:

I know that we are not playing great, but bringing Mourinho doesn't mean that something will immediately change. We still need reinforcements, especially in defence and midfield cuz we really lack creativity. In tonight's match Alex was the only who created something.

I gotta mention how great I feel about Chiellini. The guy is gonna be the next legendary defender of Calcio :agree:
 totally agree, he seems to just be getting better and better.

and he's a good character too, he looks like he could start an argument in an empty room.

what is with Nedved and Genoa, he always seems to go nuts when we play them!

hope he doesnt get a long ban, coz we have some big games coming up
Juventus 1 - 0 Genoa
Del Piero 36 (J)
Stadio Olimpico

Alessandro Del Piero celebrated his contract extension with the winner as Juventus defeated Genoa 1-0 to go clear in second place, but Claudio Ranieri and Pavel Nedved were sent off.

These two sides were promoted in the summer, but were already battling for the top spots. Juve needed a victory to keep up the pace set by leaders Inter, while Genoa were coming off three straight wins, but had not won in Turin since 1991.

Alessandro Del Piero played his first game since penning a new contract until 2010, but Vincenzo Iaquinta was out with a flu bug, joining Mauro Camoranesi, Jorge Andrade and Jean-Alain Boumsong on the sidelines. Former Juve hitman Marco Di Vaio led the line for the Grifone. Curiously, Del Piero had only ever scored against Genoa once, in 1994, the same game where he had one of two red cards in his entire career.

There were early efforts from Di Vaio and Giorgio Chiellini, but David Trezeguet had a header plucked off the line from Grygera's cross. The Frenchman also attempted a spectacular volley, but it didn't quite come off.

Del Piero sporting a new haircut went on a mazy run down the right flank and cut back for Pavel Nedved, but the ball was eventually closed down amid a crowd of Genoa bodies. As the move continued with Antonio Nocerino's header, Nedved tried to volley it when he should have left it for Trezeguet.

Del Piero was in sparkling form and dribbled past Konko to put the ball ito the centre, but Rubinho was at full stretch to push it away from danger and Nedved couldn't pounce.

Di Vaio was Genoa's most dangerous player and his half-volley flashed across the face of goal.

It was fitting that Del Piero should break the deadlock on his first match since extending his contract. His 219th official goal in a Juve jersey was a fine volley with the outside of his right foot from six yards, meeting Nedved's cross from the left.

Rubinho had to fly to fingertip a trademark Del Piero free kick out from under the crossbar as it dipped mercilessly over the defensive wall.

Di Vaio was the first to be substituted by Julio Cesar Leon and moments later Genoa nearly took the lead. Cristian Molinaro's error left Giuseppe Sculli clear on goal and Gigi Buffon performed a great save to keep it out. From the resulting corner Marco Borriello couldn't get enough contact on his header.

Leon curled a free kick over the bar, but Sculli slipped and suffered what appeared to be a groin strain. The Juventus youth product was stretchered off and replaced by Ndiaye Papa Waigo.

The substitute almost immediately put in a taut cross that Nicola Legrottaglie had to clear for a corner. From the corner Buffon fingertipped a looping Marco Borriello header over the bar.

The tension rose and Del Piero and Alessandro Lucarelli were booked for a scuffle. Perhaps also due to this - and the fact he is set to become a father any day now - he was rested for the final minutes in favour of Raffaele Palladino.

Just three minutes from time Ranieri lost his traditional cool head when the referee awarded a free kick for Palladino's contact on Cesare Bovo. The Coach was furious and was sent off for swearing at the official.

Genoa never stopped believing and in stoppages a corner kick found a glancing Papa Waigo header that looped into the air and was somehow cleared with some difficulty by the Bianconeri defence.

The tension rose further as an angry Nedved was booked for a sliding tackle on Omar Milanetto. The Czech was so livid that at the final whistle he appeared to elbow Abdoullay Konko and got a straight red card in addition to the yellow, so he'll face a lengthy ban and may be suspended for the showdown with Inter. Genoa clearly bring the worst out of Nedved, as last season in Serie B he received a five-match ban for an incident in this fixture.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what he said.
I lip read CR and he said: Che cazzo stai facendo, which means wtf are you doing

because he was being fouled so often, and was subbed to prevent injury?
he was taken off IMO cause he was getting nervous and CR wanted him to calm down and not get sent off, cause he always scores against Napoli

Do none of you remember that Zambrotta, as good as he was, was absolute shite at crossing the ball? Every ball went a solid 10-20 metres past the 2nd tier of the delle alpi

with our shitty def buffon earned the clean sheet, genoa was pressing hard in the 2nd half
Shitty defence? Our best department by far for the past two games. That is when Legrottaglie and Chiellini took command of the middle and Grygera - Molinaro took the sides.

He's a new man, changed religion. :D

Nocerino was awesome too.

Ranieri was so stubborn when Genoa controlled the game in the second half and should of brought Tiago but we won so...
It's the Kaka effect :D

Tiago? I thought that Tiago didn't even make the bench. But if he were on the bench then he would have definitely been a good option to replace Sali or Nedved.

Nedved was red carded for an elbow in the back of the head of Konko. It didn't seem that terrible at first, but if you look at it again it seemed as if Pavel really wanted to make a statement at the end of the game and he ended up doing that. Obviously he was pissed off at that inane piece of shit referee.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what he said.

Because.

Tiago might as well be considered a free agent right now. Kudos to Ranieri for essentially killing our most expensive signing.

Why does Zanetti always gets booked?

Who the hell knows. Those were some of the worst crosses I've seen in my life. Even Grygera put in some meaner crosses than Hasan.
:D

Write a full report so I can add it on my blog, I'm too lazy today.

We were very poor in the second half and I'm not sure why Ranieri took so long to change things up. As soon as Almiron and Palladino came on we gained more possession and looked somewhat threatening. The good thing is we're picking up valuable points even though we're not playing well. 2nd place at this point despite losing Camoranesi and Andrade is quite an achievement imo.

So we should have paid twice that much for Milito? And please do name this supposed laundry list of Andrade injuries. I can only think of two times that come to mind in recent years that were that significant, and one of them coming after the contract was made.

Don't go around using hindsight to make yourself look like some soothsayer.

yeah, but we have been playing a lot of teams when they are on form. Genoa have been on a great run, so it definitely a good win.
