Indeed Fontana had a great night with some blinding saves. Easy win for Juve in a completely Juve way of doing things.
I concur with Baggio, Neddy is past it. It would have interesting to see Mutu play behind the 2 strikers in the second half. Many people are moaning about DP not coming on after warming up - Did you see how many players were warming up? RAI only concentrated on DP closeups but I may have seen a couple more players warming up.

I saw a few more too, Giannichieda and Blasi I think.

Makes me wonder why most people are already over eager to criticise. First game, a comfortable Juve & people still mad.....

The things I wanted to say have all being said already so I won't repeat. Just a few remarks:

The decision to keep Zlatan on the field for 90 minutes for whatever reason, even for letting him find his form, was false in my opinion. If you play that badly you should be given a signal in a form of a substitution. We all know what Zlatan's attitude could potentially become to so a clear signal against selfishness and arrogance would've been needed.

Favouring Zala over DP had no clear reason. Zala wasn't needed for tactical reasons as we must all remember despite his super-sub moments that he's a quite limited player and he definately isn't always the Zala we saw against Barcelona etc. The few minutes he was on today (although way too short time to judge) showed that he has limits in holding the ball. Moreover I think the sub was more of a statement to the press - team is always bigger than one person (DP). I agree, but in this situation it went over the top.

Like so many times before, especially last season, we lacked creativity on the midfield. I really hoped Pizarro or someone like him would've come but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's a pity.

Neddy was clearly out of form. I hope this isn't permanent or a sign of him going that downward spiral fast.

Pessotto is one of my favourites but I would still gladly see someone else competiting with Zebina of that spot. Again it's a shame that Capello prefers having Cassano over other reinforcements. We have more than enough quality in our attack, why not acquire other more needed players?

Actually with the way DP has been playing I would never doubt Zalayeta to be put infront of DP. Zalayeta is the safer sub, atleast he's more consistant.

I agree though that Capello should sub Zlatan when he is not finding it. It seems the same to last season, weak weak finish and moves in the final 1/3 of the field.

I think this is the kind of form we should expect from juve, strong but very uncreative and explosive.

Bad performance in general , i dont know we dont play the fast on the ground football instead we play the english style of long ball to no where , why?

pessoto came instead of zabina and was better than him , imo he should be the starter.

zlatan was horrible , he should be sub in the second half , and let dp play , i dont know why cappello did not let him play?

abbiati was shaky , cana and thuram were ok

the most important thing that why we dont dominate a match with a team like chievo ?
Apart from every question u ask, I will like to add 2 more.

Y didn't Mutu start?
Y isn't Balzaretti in the squad?

Our schedule seems rather smooth sailing in the beginning, and this is the perfect time to use these 2 players, and not wait till dunno when.

well about the DP case, i dont know why don.Fabio chose zala over both mutu and alex.
Well Like vonam said it could be a safer choice for him.But i think that "The Don" made the right choice by subbing in alex cuz if alex gets in and performs badly then the media would just kill " that old Hasbeen" ( thats wat they always say abt the older players)
I think that there is much more time for alex to play, in two weeks time we will have two important matches ------- away against empoli and we have CL game as well.

So guys dont get on the coach's case yet, wait and see.

Capello said:

"I needed a player with a few more centimetres for the aerial balls, both in attack and defence," the Coach added.

"The game was still in doubt. Had that not been the case then I could have put on Del Piero."

well,IMO Zlatan even didn't deserve a 6.he missed alot of good chances because he didn't pass to others AT ALL.he is damn selfish and was nervous last night.
one of the only matches that Trez was very active.he is one of the best finishers and I don't understand why did cap sub him.
last night Abbiati seemed az bad as Chimenti.

Do not agree at all.
Zlatan diserved 6.0 in the first half, not in the second.
But that he is selfish? He passes the ball all the time, Trez got many chances thanks to Zlatan.
On the other hand Trez never passes the ball (he aint supposed to either...;) ) and he stole a clear scoringchance from Ibra.

but anyway..., Trez was gr8 yesterday.

Zlatan combines wonderful moves with useless selfish ones, but he wasn't the worse on the pitch: that award goes to Nedved who should have been sold this summer :)

Camoranesi was along with Trezeguet our best player. Hope he plays like last season.
