Capello is such a fvcking hypocrite. All this shit about no-one in his team being untouchable and DP being one of 25 players at his disposal who will be treated equally is fvcking pissing me off. Zlatan disappoints, but guess what? He still plays 90 minutes. No untouchables, huh? Treat DP fairly my fvcking arse! Alex can play well and get subbed whereas Ibrahimovic can suck and play the full game. Capello clearly had no intention of playing Del Piero but still he made him warm up for a good 35-40 minutes. I hope DP follows his brain instead of his heart and finds himself a new club. He deserves much better.

As for the game, it seems we weren't as good as we could have been but that doesn't really matter right now. We're bound to improve as the season goes on, we just need to pick up the points in the meanwhile. Good to hear that Trez had a good game and the defence did well. Hopefully Neddy and Zlatan step up their game for round 2.

Forza Juve.

I was screaming for DP to come on for Zlatan. Could you imagine if Ibra went off how moody would he have got. Besides think he took trez off instead of ibra was because ibra can hold the ball up better. especially when we were defending our lead like most of the 2nd half.

Emerson was solid as well, however for some reason he looked sluggish and his touches were off.
It is good you brought this issue up as I was discussing it with someone a few days back. We both agreed that Emerson last season became lazier in its second half and we both predicted more laziness with the arrival of Vieira. It is a bit controversial as his performance might be better with the help of a world class midfielder but at the same time, he might take advantage of the situation and decrease his work rate.

What do you think?

Another issue I'd like to point out and it is Zambrotta's forward runs. Last year with the presence of Emerson and a shaky midfielder, the defence cover was not quite the best and we all know how a responsible player Zambrotta is. I felt it many times last season that Gianluca used to think twice before going forward. I think with the Emerson-Vieira partnership there is a much better cover on the back line it will help Zambrotta go back to his old habits and we will see him more forward weather penetrating or crossing. This all depends on Nedved as well, but still it helps.

I do agree with my description of Nedved. You're being overly critical. A little scepticisme for the sake of, no offense. Nedved's first touches weren't all that great, but he always had his way of doing something usefull with the ball. That applies to his passing too, he had some really threatening crosses. Ofcourse, he wasn't the Nedved of 02/03 nor as good as Camo, but still an effective Nedved.
Every pass I saw Nedved make to an overlapping Zambrotta was misplayed. Almost every time Nedved recieved the ball in traffic he seemed to not always have control of it, as I said before, even sometimes tripping over the ball itself. He gave the ball away countless times, and we should expect much better from Nedved. He also did not always do something useful with the ball; you're being very very kind to him tonight my friend.

Even in Ajax with his current rep he would have been subbed with those performances. It seems Capello has his favourites no matter what he says and they will get playing time much easier than others.

Indeed. Zlatan was extremely poor, one of his worst matches thus far at Juventus. He better start getting his head on straight if he wants to become the best in the world.

Del Piero should have even come on instead of Zalayeta....I'm not buying this tactical excuse this time. We always had control of the match and Del Piero could have given us more control in attack, something we obviously needed with all our mis-hit passes.

But I must say Capello and Moggi are not making me happy with passing up Pizarro and seemingly giving away Mutu without even seeing what the guy can do yet. Fvcking stupid decisions as far as I'm concerned.

I actually felt Zambrotta played better, because of Nedved's felt presence. Though I also said, in my previous post, that his first touch was lacking. I'll give you that. I didn't count really THAT much lost possesion actually. Nedved wasn't extroardinary, but he was usefull and I liked his performance. I don't think he'll be as dissapointing the upcoming season as many predicted, myself included.

That may be right, I might have been a little euphoric of seeing juve again this new season. Though equally so; you're being very harsh on him tonight my friend.

That's the thing with Del Piero, he has too much love for Juve for his own good. He's probably going to stay and fight it out which under Capello makes no sense whatsoever. Fabio prefers Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic to Alex and will continue to play the two of them upfront regardless of their form. If Cassano comes things are only going to get worse for DP. If he knows what's best for him he'll leave but I don't think he will. Let's not forget that the transfer deadline is only three days away.

Appearantly... One doesn't need to make an assist or score a goal, to play effectively.
I wasn't expecting him to score'n'sh*t but I really don't see how some completed passes back down were effective. True, he was good(=energetic) without the ball but when he had it he didn't really add anything to offensive play.

He was good in penetrating Chievo's defence. He quite easily got in the mix, attackwise.

Well that's all from me tonight, i'm off. Congrats on the victory everyone!
