I've never said that, but of course that's what you'll conclude because you fail to read. I just happened to state that I will praise Molinaro when he plays like he did today week in, week out against sides better than Atalanta. But thus far I don't think he's good enough.

Week after week prior to this game he's looked horrid. One good game and people want his nuts on their faces.
Molinaro has actually showed some signs of improvement in most matches. He was dire at the start of season but he has been improving gradually & that cannot be said for someone like Almiron who's been going downhill. I read what you said & what am saying is that there is nothing wrong with praising a player who's done good.

Torino looked anything but a team waiting to get slaughtered.
Thats what he said, but after that penalty, the moral reserves of the team deplenished...

PS stop over rating Molinaro, anyone even Almiron and Criscito would have done a good game if he was given the chance to prove himself every week...

Oops. I meant they looked like a team waiting to be slaughtered. They gave up & started protesting way before that penalty. You could see that they were not mentally prepared for this match.

PS Am not overating Molinaro. He deserves praise when he has done good just like anybody else.

I dont understand y people dislike Molinaro so much. Our backline formula has performed well as it is and it doesnt need tampering. He might not be World class but he's improving well and he's the best natural left footer we have for that position without pulling Chiellini there and fuking the central defence thing up unless u wanna see Grygera or Biri there constantly cutting the ball to the right foot like against Emploli midweek. Of the top of my head - I remember 3 goals (legitimate ones that is) conceded by the backline. It just seems difficult too impress some of u guys imo

I used to say this when the season started and I'll keep saying it - it's less risky to allow Molinaro to grow at LB than to let Criscito grow at CB and putting Giorgio at LB.

Here we go, just like I said:

Ranieri: Juve won't give up Sunday 9 December, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Claudio Ranieri assures Juventus will keep fighting for the Scudetto and explains why Alessandro Del Piero was back on the bench.

Pavel Nedved’s late goal defeated Atalanta 1-0 and maintained the eight-point gap from leaders Inter.

“We know that Inter and Roma are stronger than we are, but we will try to fight alongside them. That is what being part of Juventus means.”

Tinker man left captain Del Piero on the bench for the third game on the trot and the tactic does not seem to be paying off.

“I made this decision because Vincenzo Iaquinta is in great shape. The team is united and we played a difficult match against a good Atalanta side. Our opponents know how to really hurt you on the break.”

The 2-1 Coppa Italia loss at Empoli midweek prompted Ranieri to warn some players – above all Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron – would not be given another chance to shine.

“Neither of them have failed. Right now Antonio Nocerino and Cristiano Zanetti are playing very well and doing better than expected.”

Atalanta boss Luigi Del Neri has a dreadful track record against Juventus, but took a philosophical approach.

“I try to see the glass half full. If I have lost a lot with Juventus, it means I have faced them many times and therefore I’m a top Serie A Coach. Besides, we’ll pick up points elsewhere.

“We played them on level terms with a good performance, but the class of one individual made the difference. There was a foul on Moris Carrozzieri before Nedved’s goal, but that doesn’t matter now. We can say it was a positive performance.”

Sky Sport man of the match : MOLINARO .
Molinaro was awesome today. People who claim he sucks, he can´t defend, he can´t cross, he is a headlees chicken, he is not Juve material and that he needs to be sold a.s.a.p. need to have their eyes checked. Bunch of ignorants.

He has the potential to be a very good LB for us in the future. We don´t need a new player for his position.

A match with Mlinaro as the best??

Thanks God I didn't watch that.
Molinaro >> Balzaretti

If one of the worst players this season was the best in the match, then it maybe an indicator that the others were worse.
This is not true at all, Rebel. Worst player this season are Almiron and Criscito. Grygera is also very lame lately.

But the thing is he is nothing near our worse players. He's been ok and only improving since he started playing. If you refuse to see that then I'd rather end the discussion here.
Exactly.

I'm not going to be silenced by one good game by Molinaro against ATALANTA of all teams. :lol2:

It's my opinion he's not good enough to be a starter for Juventus. If he plays like he did today against better sides consistently, he'll change my opinion. Until then, not good enough.
:soapit: Molinaro is very good.

Del Neri: Nedved Was The Difference

Atalanta boss Luigi Del Neri was happy with his team's performance today against Juventus and says that only Pavel Nedved was the difference.

The Orobici put in a dogged performance at the Stadio Olimpico and were just five minutes away from an excellent point until Pavel Nedved struck with a trademark drive to give Juventus a 1-0 victory.

Del Neri felt that Alessandro Del Piero had fouled Moris Carrozzieri in the build-up to the goal but he praised Nedved for his moment of class.

“We played them on level terms with a good performance, but the class of one individual made the difference," said Del Neri after the game.

"There was a foul on Moris Carrozzieri before Nedved’s goal, but that doesn’t matter now. We can say it was a positive performance.”

Del Neri has a dreadful record against Juventus during his career as a coach but he is putting a positive spin on things.

“I try to see the glass half full," the ex-Chievo tactician stated.

"If I have lost a lot with Juventus, it means I have faced them many times and therefore I’m a top Serie A Coach. Besides, we’ll pick up points elsewhere."

Ranieri Defends Del Piero Sub Role

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has defended his decision to leave Alessandro Del Piero on the bench against Atalanta.

The Golden Boy has not started in Serie A for a month now, having also been on the bench during the games against Palermo and Milan.

With Juve struggling against Atalanta this afternoon, Ranieri brought Del Piero on for Vincenzo Iaquinta at half-time. The 33-year produced a superb performance and was involved in everything for his side.

"Del Piero was left on the bench because Iaquinta is in great form and when you have three forwards in this kind of form it is not easy to make a decision," said Ranieri after the game.

The game seemed destined for a draw until Pavel Nedved unleased a trademark drive from outside the area to earn Juventus a priceless 1-0 win.

"It was very difficult to break the deadlock," admitted Ranieri. "Atalanta have a very organised defence and were hard to break down."

The result means that Juve close to within three points of second-placed Roma after they drew 1-1 at Livorno. The Bianconeri remain eight points behind Inter after they thrashed Torino 4-0.

"Inter and Roma are both stronger than us, but as I have always said, we will continue to fight against them," the Tinkerman concluded.

True Molinaro played pretty good today, but he really can't cross nor pass. He's quick and thats the first thing we need for a left back and, but he should work alot on his crosses and passing.

One match means nothing but his crosses today were on target ( the target being Trezeguet's head). Last week he killed few fans at San Siro with his crosses while today each one of his crosses and passes were spot on.
We can only hope that this will be repeated in next few matches.

And another thing - Do you guys remember how nervous he and Criscito were in their first matches ? It was like they couldn't believe they play for Juve.
Now game after game Molinaro is getting used to being watched by millions of people worldwide and doesn't look nervous anymore, which can not be said about Criscito.

what ? his crosses and passes were awesome today
His crosses today?? no where to be called awesome. Re-watch the game again. Of course any player in this world would have one good cross out of 10.

I have no reason to lie. I'm glad and very happy he played well today but he needs to work on some things to become a better player.

Sky Sport man of the match : MOLINARO .
I find it hard to belive that everyone liked his performance today. He was slightly better than the other matches this year.Defensively he was ok as almost every game but offensively he had many bad decisions IMO.Ok, he nearly assisted Trez and was trying hard but again some of his crosses were awful and went straight to the opponents(not to mention a cross that went straightly out when none was pressing him).He was simply better than the other games, and we surely need a new left-back even if he continues to play like today

Yeah, he should have kept Iaquinta as he's 10x the player Palladino is ATM.
Agree. I was happy to see both Alex and Marchionni but Iaquinta should've stayed on the pitch, as that left Trez all alone in the box. He got crowded out, and we could've used Iaquinta's power out there.
But the result is good, so the coach is right.

I'm not going to be silenced by one good game by Molinaro against ATALANTA of all teams. :lol2:
Atalanta are sixth in the rankings with a game in hand. Ahead of Palermo, Sampdoria, Milan, Napoli or Lazio. And that's no wonder given their game. They're a very organised team.

It's my opinion he's not good enough to be a starter for Juventus. If he plays like he did today against better sides consistently, he'll change my opinion. Until then, not good enough.
I was very sceptical at the beginning, but I like him more and more. He's no Zambrotta, sure, but his forward play and his crosses are good. His defending is still too shaky for my liking, though.

His crosses today?? no where to be called awesome. Re-watch the game again. Of course any player in this world would have one good cross out of 10.
They weren't awesome, ok, but they were pretty good IMO. He got a lot more than one good cross out of ten.

okay, my brief view of the game-

buffon- one shot on target, one save. caught evry single ball in the air. forza gigi! the only player that we need never worry about. 6.5

zebina- i was really impressed by him today. defended very well, was good in attck, just didn't attack enough and also tried to be cristiano ronaldo once opr twice. 6.5

legro- had absolutely nothing to do, but he hasn't made a huge mistake for a while now(anti-jinx). 6

chiellini- also was really not tested but looked calmer than usual today, which is good. also didn't get a card today. surprisingly, he was beaten in the air a few times. 6

molinaro- defended good and stopped f. pinto, although he didn't prove to be much of a threat. made good forward runs, but can't cross for shit, his passing isn't too good either and holds on to the ball too long. 6

palladino- pure shit today. his best attribute which is his technique, was poor today. couldn't trap, pass, dribble or shield the ball. hopefully if he's played as a forward, he will do much better. 4.5

nocerino- gattuso must be looking over his shoulder as we speak. was great in the midfield today. but he must realise that he isn't much of a pirlo, more like a rino, although i remember he did send a wonderful ball to nedved. 7

zanetti- solid, calm, reliable are the words to describe his performance today and for the whole season so far. he even sent some good long range passes too. plus, he wasn't booked. 7

nedved- it's sad that we must rely so much on this 35 year old legend, who will likely not be here after this season to be our only attcking threat. great game, he took charge and stepped up, and scored our winner, that i knew was going to come, but i didn't think it would be pavel. 7.5

trez- no clear cut chances, but got a bit of half-chances that we expect he would normally put away at least one. wasn't deadly today, but his work rate in the last few weeks has doubled, which is great. 5

iaqunita- disappointing. wasn't in the game at all, and did nothing. his form has dropped for the last few weeks as well. i hope that it wasn't just a one-off early on in the season and that he will back to his warrior best.

SUBS-
marco- was happy when he came because i thought he was what we needed, but he was quiet and when he had the ball, he passed crap. 5

del piero- didn't receive much of the ball, but he looked dangerous when he did. he looked like he just wanted to have fun, he was toying with defenders and earned some free kicks. should have crossed more at times though. 6

tiago- got what we call here, a "corbeaux sweat".

He was one of the better players on the pitch today and getting some praise after weeks of insults is ok . I think it's his first above average performance this season and he really proved many people wrong and showed that he's up to it . I don't think everybody should get too excited because anyone can have a good game , it's consistency that matters .

The fact is , he is good enough . At least for now , he's the best rightback we have and I doubt Juve will go splashing money on quality players in January .
He's better than Grygera by far , he even defends better than Grygera and he can attack too , something Grygera can't do for shit .
