actually it wasnt so bad. however, since vinnie doesnt seem to be anywhere, let me try and recreate his match analysis :vinny:

"we always complain that trezeguet doesnt get enough chance. he got them today and we saw how he missed them. Ranieri sucks"
:agree:

A match with Mlinaro as the best??

Thanks God I didn't watch that.
Actually, he played really good today...I wasn't expecting to see him playing this way!
Hope he continues like this...

The most important thing today was that we won! :juvefan2:

Now onto the game. We deserved the win, we outclassed Atalanta in all areas, but because their defenders were so deep, we couldn't use Iaquinta effectively to run at them. That is why Del Piero impressed so much. He had the space in between midfield and defense to work the ball and use it to great effect.

In the first half we really did attack confidently. Nedved and Molinaro were like a chain, linking up to perfection. The only problem was on the right, where Palladino wasn't that useful. When Zebina went to bed twice during the half, Nocerino was there to spot their attack. He was the best player of the first half. Azzurri call awaits.

In the second half we were more built up. Atalanta had a spell where they were attacking and it was rather annoying. There was also far too many free kicks. I'm glad that Nedved put it away in front of our fans, who were great today, loads of noise. That was the type of shot which shuts our opponents up and puts them in their place. Pavel is our assassin.

Player Ratings:
Buffon - 6.5 - Not too much to deal with.
Molinaro - 7.5 - Such an improvement from Milan. World class crosses, I love it.
Chiellini - 6.5 - Solid like a stone.
Zebina - 6.5 - Moment of the match was when he kicked the ball away. I love his attitude.
Nedved - 8 *Man of the match* - And he deserved it. 3 superb performances in a row. Goal that broke the net, and many fans voices. He is 25, no?
Zanetti - 7 - As reliable as he usually is.
Nocerino - 7.5 - Young guy who is brilliant. His career is about to take off. Won many balls, ran many times. All great.
Palladino - 5 - Very dissapointing. I think he was played out of position. Play him as a striker please.
Trezeguet - 6.5 - Just couldn't put the ball away. He had all he needed to score. Del Piero and Molinaro set him up nicely, just not on target.
Iaquinta - 6 - Average. Never got into the game because of the great discipline of Atalanta's defense.

Del Piero - 7 - He put the game up. Skillful plays, great passes. Bravo Capitano.
Marchionni - 5.5 - Not into the game, he needs some intensive training.
Tiago - N/A - I felt sorry for his 2 minutes.

Ranieri - 7 - Good substitutions. I hope he can convince someone to bring back Giovinco and Marchisio.

I didn't watch the match but have to point out few things.

- I read that we were playing great, and we won. I wouldn't complain alot.
- Some people ask for DP's head whenever he wastes a chance or is off form in a game, or misses a penalty..etc. He is a human being. And now look at him. From What I read he was the most creative player in the 2nd half. Players like DP, Nedved, Camoranesi and Trezeguet even if they are off form, a single spark of brilliance from them would swerve the game to our favour. Such players we should hold on to as much as we cam.
- If you look at our standing, 3rd. With the repeatedly missing players due to suspnessions, or the injury list AND to that our "misfortune" with ref calls, I guess we are doing brilliant. Ranieri is doing a good job. Stop complaining about him.
- The lads are working hard, as a team.. So I think we should losen up the pressure on them. The media is begging for something they could brat about. You see them talking about Del Piero being a SUPER SUB, although Ranieri never said anything about that. Del Piero never went to the press and complained. Ofcourse if he is asked do u like being a sub he will say no. The team is solid. The team is united. THAT WHAT MATTERS. And whatever we acheive this season, a good amount of credit would go to Ranieri and old players (e.g. DP, Camo, Gigi, Pavel, David) for keeping the team together.

Sky Sport man of the match : MOLINARO .
I agree with that statement : good crosses, nice moves, quick step ups. Hopefully, this guy is geeting better. The only thing that I'm worried about is that, with camo off, even marchionni and palla are useless in his departement. I would like to see a diamond formation with tiago included in.

If one of the worst players this season was the best in the match, then it maybe an indicator that the others were worse.
But the thing is he is nothing near our worse players. He's been ok and only improving since he started playing. If you refuse to see that then I'd rather end the discussion here.

Not today! Molinaro seemed to link up well with Neddy today, and he had a good game. Neddy, Giorgio, Nocerino were the best. Zebina and his bad temper were the only bad point. I felt he & Legro don't work well together. Legro is definitely uncomfortable playing alongside him.

Well, he was the worst at the matches I saw. I won't judge him in this match, though.

Camoranesi is injured and in this game I'd like to see Tiago start ahead of Nedved, what don't you understand? But like I said, it's not gonna happen.
Good call. :D
