i thought we played it around ok, but knowhere near as good as we could have. i saw too many balls high in the air, imo i thought we should have tried to pass it along the floor a lot nore than we did.

okay, my brief view of the game-

buffon- one shot on target, one save. caught evry single ball in the air. forza gigi! the only player that we need never worry about. 6.5

zebina- i was really impressed by him today. defended very well, was good in attck, just didn't attack enough and also tried to be cristiano ronaldo once opr twice. 6.5

legro- had absolutely nothing to do, but he hasn't made a huge mistake for a while now(anti-jinx). 6

chiellini- also was really not tested but looked calmer than usual today, which is good. also didn't get a card today. surprisingly, he was beaten in the air a few times. 6

molinaro- defended good and stopped f. pinto, although he didn't prove to be much of a threat. made good forward runs, but can't cross for shit, his passing isn't too good either and holds on to the ball too long. 6
palladino- pure shit today. his best attribute which is his technique, was poor today. couldn't trap, pass, dribble or shield the ball. hopefully if he's played as a forward, he will do much better. 4.5

nocerino- gattuso must be looking over his shoulder as we speak. was great in the midfield today. but he must realise that he isn't much of a pirlo, more like a rino, although i remember he did send a wonderful ball to nedved. 7

zanetti- solid, calm, reliable are the words to describe his performance today and for the whole season so far. he even sent some good long range passes too. plus, he wasn't booked. 7

nedved- it's sad that we must rely so much on this 35 year old legend, who will likely not be here after this season to be our only attcking threat. great game, he took charge and stepped up, and scored our winner, that i knew was going to come, but i didn't think it would be pavel. 7.5

trez- no clear cut chances, but got a bit of half-chances that we expect he would normally put away at least one. wasn't deadly today, but his work rate in the last few weeks has doubled, which is great. 5

iaqunita- disappointing. wasn't in the game at all, and did nothing. his form has dropped for the last few weeks as well. i hope that it wasn't just a one-off early on in the season and that he will back to his warrior best.

marco- was happy when he came because i thought he was what we needed, but he was quiet and when he had the ball, he passed crap. 5

del piero- didn't receive much of the ball, but he looked dangerous when he did. he looked like he just wanted to have fun, he was toying with defenders and earned some free kicks. should have crossed more at times though. 6

tiago- got what we call here, a "corbeaux sweat".

I have not seen much of this guy but I have not been overly disappointed whenever I have seen him. The bad rep he gets on here is not for me to say because I have not seen to much of him but against Atalanta he was very good.

It is not his fault that Iaquinta and Palladino were not in the box to profit and as someone said he is naturally left footed so that is to his advantage.

How can you possibly give him a lower mark than Zebina in the same game?

Then you say Dp did not see much of the ball, if you look at my play by play, Dp was almost always on the ball in the 2nd half when he came on.

Marchionni was not quite when he came on he was invisible, for the first 20 mins of his coming on, he never touched the ball.

I am not so sure I understand what goes on in this forum, Molinaro, Criscito, Nocerino are young Italian players but they always seem to get a lot of stick on here.

Chiellini all of a sudden can do no wrong on here.

Molinaro, I do believe is making his first foray in serieA whilst Tiago and Almiron are more experienced but when they have all been given chances to shine Molinaro has obviously performed better that those 2 but he gets mollified.

He is not always gonna get it right but judge him by next season not now as it cannot be easy for him to defend against right winger without much help from Nedved or whoever plays there and go forward to help the attack as well

Too much bandwagon effect on here, once a few people bash a certain player you see a lot crawling out of the woodworm to bash that particular player.

Molinaro was possibly the only player to play well in both halves as most were good in the 1st half and not that effective in he 2nd half so lets give the guy a break and praise him for once.

Then you can go back to criticising him when he plays crap and it might be better if we all stopped looking at ppls fuckups so we can write about it and ignore the good things they do in games

well mate you've seen Molinaro's best overall game in defense and especially going forward.Hes always been solid in defense except for the odd mistake( which i think is nerves and understandable) but offensively hes been poor. The only thing i always said is that he was playing much better than this offensively last season. There is room for improvement.

In this particular game the guy was good and if the game ended 0-0 I would have given him motm.

Balzaretti, I do like but the guy is not even in Fiorentina's 1st team fit or not.

Why do personal feelings always come into play with football fans? I don't like Iaquinta's style of play and I lost respect for Ranieri post-valencia but they have both done a brilliant job at Juventus, yet some are not satisfied with them.

To have something against Molinaro because he took Bazlaretti's place is just typical as there is not a player that is any threat to Dp that would be welcomed by some ppl to Juventus

Without outside help and with some people still punishing us for past sins we are still 3rd in the league with quite ordinary players and Ranieri is not getting the praise he deserves.

Okay he should give Tiago more playing time but its up to Tiago to grab chances with both hands if indeed he is as good as some ppl think he is.

Personally I have never rated he or Almiron that highly so it does not surprise me to see them struggling but if they do shine when given their chance id be 1 of the first to praise em.


Marco Materazzi and Nicola Legrotagglie have proved that given a chance and instil confidence in them, some players may just rise to the occasion

Anyone who thought that Molinaro was not providing far and away the best service on the pitch against Atalanta is simply in denial. Sure, he's still a bit of a clown in a number of ways. And there's a lot more to prove than one match.

But there was virtually NO legitimate service from the right side of the pitch in the match. And while Molinaro's crosses were often a bit soft, he was connecting with Trez (the most often) and other forwards where no other Juve player came close to making any connections.

I'm not bashing Molinaro just for the hell of it. I've seen pretty much all our matches thus far this season, and he has INDEED been our weakest link in the usual starting 11 since the start of the campaign. Before the match this weekend he has not impressed me one bit, and it will take more for my opinion to change.

That's just the way I see it. My criticism for Molinaro is not based upon us giving away Balzaretti, but rather the fact that Molinaro has looked horrid in various matches this season, especially against Inter.

I think Molinero is better than Balzaretti.

He is defn a better dribbler and faster runner. His lapses in defending seem to come due to the effort in attacking but he usually gets the job done. I also think he will get alot better as he gets the hang of playing for Juventus and playing with great players around him.

I think he will be a fixture in the team in the future honestly and was impressed that he broke his arm and although was a bit out of sorts at first was back to running a bit after. He is willing to fight for Juve.

I also agree with someone's statement that he should have been man of the match had Nedved not dominated and won the game.

From my part am just saying he wasn't playing to the level of my expectations and was under performing for one reason or another. All he needs is a bit of confidence and that will come game by game.

About balzaretti well you have to expect people will get emotional about the comparisons between him and molinaro. He was a fan favourite because of his dedication, hard work and great spirit.

I think Molinero is better than Balzaretti.

well although skill wise i think balzaretti is better but to me a full back has to be sound defensively first. Cristian is certainly that, forget the lapses of concentration here and there. His positioning, cross covering, and challenges are very and we saw that from day one.

Lets hope he improves offensively something that i think will eventually happen

What I think of him does not matter, he is doing a good job.

If i was arguing for him I would say that just look at the the table and you would see proof of how well he has done with the resources that he has.

If I was arguing against him I would say that the determination to prove the world wrong because of relegation has helped his cause.

Then I would argue for and say that no matter what kinda determination you have without the tools you cannot succeed just look at Ricky Hatton with all his determination, Mayweather still whooped his ass

I could then go pro Ranieri again and say take away dubious penalties and disallowed goals then we could be nearer Inter

Then my left side would counter argue that we have been fortunate that when we meet teams they almost always have played a European game like Fiorentina, Roma, Milan and Lazio on saturday.

Lets just say that Ranieri in his 1st stint as Valencia boss had me as a fan but since then I have not been impressed but my personal feelings should never come into play unless I can see disaster in Cl or anyother major competition and I think the manager is out of his depth but as far as just league is concerned Ranieri has a 7/10

Going to Tiago, what do you mean everytime he has started in serieA? He has not started more than 2 games I wouldn't think and against Empoli in the cup he was roundly slated in the press for his non performance.

I may have taken your stance if Tiago is a player that has proved his worth in my eyes but he has never done so. I am not saying he is a poor player or anything but in my personal opinion I dont see his worth as I would never have paid that kinda amount for him. I would not have gone for him period.

But you are right in saying Ranieri was talking nonsense as regards Sissoko as they are totally different players and its a nonsense to suggest that Tiago is 2nd choice to Sissoko unless of cos Ranieri didnt know the kinda play Tiago was when he asked for him.

He probably thought he as the kinda player that did that kind of job of cleaning up and running around with bundles of energy.
