Serie A ninth matchday is scheduled on Wednesday night, when Juventus will meet Sampdoria at home. Thanks to the 0-3 earned at Lecce with goals by Ibrahimovic, Mutu and Zalayeta, the Bianconeri achieved the eighth consecutive win in Serie A since the start of the season, equalling the historical record made only twice before: in 1930 and 1985, fancy that, always and only Juventus. An extraordinary series of wins that testify the amazing quality of the Bianconeri and their coach, who started the season at the top of their shape and have always been determined to come out victorious from the playground.
Once equalled the record, Capello’s lads now aim at breaking it and in order to do so they’ll have to beat one the clubs who mostly gave them a rough time last year: Sampdoria. The thirteen points gained so far are the result of four wins, three defeats, suffered against Chievo at the Luigi Ferraris stadium and away against Fiorentina and Arezzo, and a draw, earned last Sunday at Marassi in a rocambolesque 3-3 against Siena. Led by former Reggina player Bonazzoli, who is Serie A second best scorer with his seventeen goals, their attack is the second most prolific in the championship, with an average of more than two goals a match.
Juventus scored one goal less than them but the Bianconeri can still claim the best defence in Serie A with only two goals conceded and most of all a table at full score. Achieving the ninth win in a row would not only mean making a new record but most of all keeping, or maybe increasing, the five-point gap from Milan, also in view of the match between the two scheduled on Saturday, 29th October at San Siro. This is one further reason to rush to the Delle Alpi to support the Bianconeri; in addition to that, ticket prices for the challenge against Sampdoria are extremely favourable and start from 10 euros for the Curva sectors. Tickets pre-sale will be open until the start of the match, at Lottomatica stores.
