Capello: “My mind is already set on Roma”

“I’m waiting for this match with the right attention, tension and respect for the opponent. I’ve already watched Roma’s match (i.e. against Palermo), which proves my prompt attention to this event.” Fabio Capello hadn’t yet fully enjoyed the win against Siena when he started focusing on Thursday night’s midweek match when the Bianconeri and the Giallorossi will meet. “I was positively impressed by AS Roma’s performance – he continues – they can be dangerous, have top quality players who can make all the difference particularly in the last thirty metres. It’s a team I know very well, they are much talented. It’s not a case that I’ve always reckoned them to be among the four teams entitled to win the championship. They’ve had a hard start, clearly as a consequence of the misfortunes they’ve gone through.” On the contrary, Juventus seems relentless and goes on among goals and wins:“We own the second best attack and the best defence. We’ve suffered during the first half in Siena but still we have had opportunities; we’re able to create many scoring occasions and concede few. We have to go on this way, also because we wish to keep our current ranking and playing the late match, after all the other teams, makes us even more willing to win the game”.
Roma is in fact the first real top club Juventus is meeting this season. However, Capello underlines that Juventus has already met (and beated) titled clubs this year: “We’ve met top clubs in Champions League and we’ve managed to beat them. The Italian championship is different but we’ve proved our strength winning all the away fixtures, which is never easy. The match against Roma is certainly going to be a tough one and we’ll prepare for it with great attention.”

come on earthlings

it is just a matter of faith. Have a little faith in don Fabio. Capello came in last summer and turned things upside down. A team who struggled was turned into a winner. A defence who had sinked the team is now impenetrable.

Let us just give the guy some credit and hope that he has what it takes to win Roma.

After all he has been a winner with, Milan, Real, Roma and will be with Juventus. And .... he know inside out Roma, and will do what is needed to neutralize Totti and the likes.

Oh come on people stop this Collina superstition!
Last year we always lost when Collina was the ref of some of our matches simply because our performances were below par not because of Collina.

no seriously it's not superstition, how many matches have we gone without winning under Collina? I think it was like at least 7?

I feel like an Arsenal fan after the match on Sunday, except I know what's coming before hand. :(
