Ancelotti: We Were Too Superficial
5/16/2005 7:28:00 AM
The Milan coach blamed the lack of clinical finish and superficiality as the basis for the Rossoneri’s disappointing away draw to Lecce.
Milan have now given up hope on the Scudetto as the team is 5 points adrift of Juventus with just two matchdays to go. Carlo Ancelotti was upset with the way his side administrated their one goal lead against a 10-man Lecce side which eventually led to the Giallorossi's equalizer.

“We made a big mistake on the 2-1 and in numerical advantage. We had the chance of scoring, but we also paid for some superficiality.”

The Rossoneri will now concentrate fully on their Champions League final encounter against Liverpool, in program on the 25th of May in Istanbul.

Emptyhanded this season hopefully, Amen.

Hope we dun be too complacent...must win the last two matches!

And now...I hope Milan does not win the Champs league...so that Juve can win the Scudetto to spite them...

I prefer Milan over L'pool.
That would sponsor them a lot,
it would be better for us not to happen
as we might have the same transfer targets,
anyway they have more money than us to buy who ever they want,
n front of us but,
that means we might loose to secondary targets too.

And what do you think ,who will take a part in C.L. next year Doria or Udinese.
Personally I would like to watch Sampdoria next year. They're totaly Italian team.
I'm sorry because inter occupy 3.place for C.L. and they are really shit, and I hate them so one of those two squads won't get in.PITY!!!

they will also start saying the shit they always do,that we pay the referees etc,and that europe is important and also in europe you show your worth, not in a macth you have payed to win.

Juventus dominates and win the home challenge against Parma thanks to goals by Del Piero and Ibrahimovic. Great attendance at Delle Alpi. Fans give a strong voice support to the bianconeri displaying a great shape since the early minutes. Fabio Capello finds Ibrahimovic again, after paying off suspension, and puts him alongside Del Piero. It will be the very forward duo marking the 2-0 that close a first half dominated by Juventus and played almost constantly in Parma’s field side. Early attempts from Emerson and Ibrahimovic are both denied by a good Frey. On 6’ the advantage goal: free kick by Camoranesi, header by Del Piero into the net (1-0). Doubling on 23’. Nedved from the right serving Camoranesi, whose header is deflected corner bound. On subsequent corner kick by the Italo-Argentinean, Ibrahimovic comes in with a header goal (2-0). On 30’ it’s the Swede again creating danger, but his conclusion is rebounded by Frey. On 38’ nice action by Del Piero freeing up from an opponent at the edge of the area and having his left legged shot high. On Parma’s side to be noticed a Camara’s wide shot and a conclusion by Bresciano high.

At the restart Juventus preserves the double advantage trying to increase it. On 9’ attempt by Camoranesi, header wide on the side. One minute later Del Piero’s time on a free kick, high. On 17’ Nedved’s turn, Frey intercepts. On 32’ shot by Ibrahimovic saved. Buffon draws attention to himself in two occasions: on 21’ anticipating Dessena close to goal and three minutes later blocking a dangerous free kick by Bresciano. Splendid Del Piero’s free kick on 37’ deflected to corner by Frey. Parma’s goalkeeper still on the spotlight one minute later, rebounding a right legged shot by Ibrahimovic. On 42’, after substitutions of Camoranesi with Birindelli and Del Piero with Trezeguet, it’s the moment for Ferrara. The whole crowd knows that the great Ciro, who announced he will retire at this tournament’s end, holds 499 presences in Serie A and is calling his name louder. It’s the time: Del Piero urges the people to applaud his friend and winning teammate, so the entrance of the Neapolitan defender, reaching 500, comes with a rumble. And, to double the party, Milan with the draw at Lecce went down at -5 with just two legs to go.
