Corini to miss Juve clash

Palermo look likely to face Juventus this weekend without the support of injured Franco Brienza, Eugenio Corini and Giovanni Tedesco.

Corini, who spent two seasons early in his career with the Bianconeri, has been struggling with a fitness problem for several weeks now and last appeared in the 1-1 draw with Ascoli on April 2.

Tedesco also worked with physiotherapists today, while Brienza is the only one of the trio who has a chance of playing on Sunday, as his left ankle injury isn’t too serious.

If Brienza fails to recover, Coach Giuseppe Papadopulo is expected to field Mario Alberto Santana along with David Di Michele, pushing Fabio Grosso into a wide midfield role and slotting Kewullay Conteh into the left-back position.

The Rosanero, who have only a slim possibility of catching Chievo for that final UEFA Cup spot, will also be without the suspended Leandro Rinaudo.

As for Juventus, their Press silence continues, but there are reports from the training ground that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to the starting 11, pushing Alessandro Del Piero back on to the bench.

The Swede hasn’t scored in Serie A since the 2-2 draw with Messina on February 18 and has managed just six goals all season

Great news,Corini is the most important player in their squad!...I dont think that Cap. would ever think of putting Ibra ahead of Dp. in this crucial match! Ibra is not inform & this is the most important game of the season!,,,I dontt think he is that STUPID!

Regardless of form, it is sad not to see Alex start in front of such a crowd.
Last match at the old delle Alpi... last home match of the season in a tight Scudetto race ... Alex pantsing Zlatan in the offensive department... what more excuses does Capello need to save some face and rightfully start DP in this match?

OMG I can't believe this... other fans 1-2 days before the match pray that there team wins/plays good... WE pray that our coach makes the right decision, plays the captain :groan: Life's so weird.

PS We don't need to hope for win, we expect/wait it ;)
