somehow that would make me happy. i think bayern are very strong this season, i'd probably rate them as my next favourites to win the whole thing, just after the barca-chelsea pair.
wtf!!! we will win it man, have faith in ur team & btw Chelsea are 100% out & i think that Milan will do it & kick bayern out of the competition though Bayern are so strong!

Oh well, Thuram and Kovac should be enough for this game. Giannichedda is always an option for desperate situations(I think Giannichedda is better as centre-back than defensive midfielder anyway). Next game we'll probably have Zambrotta, Chiellini and Cannavaro back.
still, i'd be nice to have tudor or (god forbid) legrottaglie waiting in line.

Tudor is usefull yes, but I think he needs consistency to perform. Thus he needs to be played consistently.

hope zambo or canna dont get injured in the friendly.....then we will be screwed
Yeah that is one of my biggest fears. The german squad mat attempt to hurt the Juve & Milan players on purpose :p for Bayern & Bremen.Anyway I don't care abot the friendly but the good news is that Dp will start with Totti injureddd!

i know. most players need to play constantly to be at the top. remember how birindelli was called up azzurri when he was first choice. but this lack of options at the back is really frustrating.

not really, we have what, 5 full backs and thats without blasi. he just would not play. besides, had birindelli been ok this season i dont think balzaretti would have been discovered.

I disagree here. we actually do need his services and he's missed. He's the kind of a player that you always need, fast, stamina etc....I remmber when Lippi used to play him on the right..he was soo damn good...

no but really. zebina and zambrotta are first choice anyway, chiellini would be ahead of biri as well. even balzaretti after his recent performances. im sad to see that but the only im seeing biri in the future is with another team. in facdt it would be good for him, he would start at any team top 3 aside. and would pretty much have a place in italy squad.

The train has passed for Birindelli in the Italy squad. I think in another team he'll play a bit more before his retirement. However, I see Birinidelli a great coach.Would love him to follow the steps of Conte.

Fabio Capello claims that the 3-2 defeat at Werder Bremen was just the kind of shock therapy Juventus needed to avoid complacency against Lecce.

“We have to rediscover ourselves with the right spirit,” insisted the Coach after that Champions League setback. “That was electro-shock therapy for us, but the kind that can have a positive effect.”

The Bianconeri have been uncharacteristically sloppy at the back since Gianluca Zambrotta’s injury, letting in five goals in their last two official games against Messina and Bremen.

“The only defenders I have at my disposal for this Sunday are Federico Balzaretti, Lilian Thuram, Robert Kovac, Gianluca Pessotto and Manuele Blasi. I’ll also have to rotate the squad to keep everyone fresh. When we worked out our transfer policy, I thought we had enough defenders.”

Fabio Cannavaro has been ever-present this season in the League, but is suspended following his dismissal in Sicily.

Lecce are in penultimate place, but Capello certainly does not expect this to be an easy ride at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

“These are the most difficult games in the calendar, because you need extra motivation and eagerness, not just thinking that sooner or later a goal will come. We have to act as if we were facing a Scudetto contender, especially as Lecce are organised and will do everything to put a spanner in the works.”

Alessandro Del Piero came on against Werder Bremen midweek and inspired both Juve’s goals, so he could be given a starting spot. Francesco Totti’s fractured ankle has also opened the door for his permanent recall to the Italy squad.

“Del Piero is having an excellent season,” admitted Capello. “I think that he is so professional, talented, proud and convinced of his capabilities that Totti’s injury has not changed the way he works ahead of the World Cup.”

Adrian Mutu has recovered from a slight injury and is set to allow Pavel Nedved a rest this weekend.

Juventus squad: Buffon, Vieira, Kovac, Pessotto, Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Del Piero, Nedved, Balzaretti, Camoranesi, Trezeguet, Mutu, Blasi, Thuram, Bonnefoi, Giannichedda, Olivera, Zalayeta, Abbiati, Rodriguez
