Yes we do, but if I had to take one of the two games more seriously than the other then it would be Bayern-Juve.
5points ahead of Milan is not enough so i see Chievo match also Important the same goes with Bayern.

I read that we are without Zebina and Zambrotta for the Chievo match, ok that are not very good news, but this squad is strong enough to win without this two guys!!!

I think Brindelli and Pessotto will take their place or maybe Tudor, i think Thuram putting into the right back wouldn't be that good!!

Serie A Preview: Juventus-Chievo
10/30/2004 1:22:00 PM
Fresh from another convincing display and another 3 points, Juventus entertain Chievo at the Stadio Delle Alpi. The minnows from Verona are flying high in Serie A and will do their best to slow down the bianconeri machine.
BACKGROUND

No team in Europe looks as untouchable as Juventus right now. The ‘Old Lady’ has lost two points in Serie A this season and remains undefeated. In Europe Juventus have been equally impressive, winning all of their group matches in what looked to be a tricky draw. On Thursday evening Fabio Capello’s men faced their first real test in the league, facing his former club Roma. The match saw Roma old boys Zebina and Emerson facing their former employers in what was potentially a tricky tie for Juventus. The bianconeri were impressive once again, rising to the challenge to comfortably brush aside any Roman resistance. Del Piero was decisive once again after making a huge impact since returning from injury. With many critics suggesting the striker was past his best after a disappointing start to his Serie A campaign, Del Piero is beginning to prove them wrong. Another boos for Fabio Capello is the ever-improving Zalayeta who also scored in the win over Roma. With Juventus looking so solid in midfield and defence, there were fears that in Trezeguet’s absence the team would struggle for goals. Capello seems to be getting the most out of the three strikers he has available to him, with new boy Ibrahimovic improving every game.

It seems amazing that little Chievo remained unbeaten until midweek when they finally crashed to a 2-0 defeat against Sampdoria. The Chievo miracle is a well known phenomenon by now with the ‘flying donkeys’ having surprised everyone when they first entered Serie A under former manager Del Neri. During the summer Chievo lost their coach Del Neri, the man who was considered responsible for the miracle Chievo, and Italian international Simone Perrotta, so most of the experts gave them no chance of survival. Under new manager Beretta Chievo are once again mixing it with the big boys lying above teams like Inter and Roma in the standings.

FORM GUIDE

Juventus: WWWW

The Turin side are currently on an impressive run that has seen them comfortably work their way up to the top of Serie A. There is currently no better side in the league and the ‘Old Lady’ will be in confident mood against Chievo.

Chievo: WWDL

Chievo will look to improve on their last two results but will be hard pressed to find a win at the Stadio Delle Alpi. Manager Beretta has stated that survival is their only goal this season, but if the team continues in such good form anything is possible.

TEAM NEWS

Juventus:

Emerson misses out after his suspension and is replaced by Tacchinardi, while Zebina is out injured. The former Roma duo apart, Juventus are more or less at full strength. After his return to goal scoring form recently, Del Piero looks certain to partner Ibrahimovic up front. Zalayeta’s good form will pose a difficult selection problem for Capello who will probably start the Uruguayan from the bench.

Chievo:

The flying donkeys are at full strength with the exception Luciano. Amauri drops to the bench and will be replaced by Pellissier. Former Juve midfielder Brighi will start in the centre against his former club.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Juventus:

Tacchinardi has watched from the sidelines after Emerson’s arrival from Roma. The former Italian international has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks and will want to impress his new manager and remind the fans what they are missing. Emerson’s suspension gives him the perfect chance to do this.

Chievo:

Brighi will want to show Juventus what he is capable of after being offloaded by the club in the summer. The starlet has recently discovered his best form after failing to live up to his potential in recent seasons.

PROBABLE STARTING XIs

Juventus (4-4-2)
Buffon - Pessotto, Thuram, F.Cannavaro, Zambrotta - Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Appiah, Nedved - Del Piero, Ibrahimovic

Chievo (4-4-2)
Marchegiani - Moro, Mandelli, D’Anna, Malagò - Semioli, Brighi, Baronio, Franceschini - Cossato, Pellissier.

PREDICTION

Juventus should easily cope with Chievo despite their impressive early season form.

Juventus 3-1 Chievo

Well, RAI International will be showing the match tomorrow morning, and if you people are nice to me, I just might provide live commentary for any Skype users out there.

Juve defence torn apart
Saturday 30 October, 2004

The Bianconeri have an emergency in defence for Sunday’s match with Chievo, as both Gianluca Zambrotta and Jonathan Zebina are out.

The versatile Italian international is struggling with a bruised foot and will not even be fit to sit on the bench at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

As expected after he was stretchered off during the 2-0 win against Roma on Thursday evening, Zebina has suffered a minor thigh strain and is also a major doubt for next week’s Champions’ League trip to Munich.

Capello had until now resisted rotating the squad, especially in a defence that has conceded just two League goals all season, but suddenly loses half his favoured back four.

“You all asked for the squad rotation system,” said the Coach as he started today’s press conference, “and got your wish. After all, we couldn’t play the same men for the entire year.”

The Bianconeri have several options open to them, as Alessandro Birindelli and Gianluca Pessotto could take over as fullbacks, while Lilian Thuram could also push back into his old right-back position and bring ex-Chievo man Nicola Legrottaglie into central defence.

This isn’t Fabio Capello’s only problem, as Emerson is suspended following his red card against the Giallorossi, while Manuele Blasi is not 100 per cent fit.

Meanwhile, Pavel Nedved will start in midfield and is set to celebrate his 100th Serie A appearance in a Juventus jersey. The Czech international has so far picked up 138 League caps for Lazio and this will be his 238th in the Italian top flight.

Juventus squad:

1 Buffon, 2 Ferrara, 3 Tacchinardi, 4 Montero, 5 Tudor, 7 Pessotto, 9 Ibrahimovic, 10 Del Piero, 11 Nedved, 15 Birindelli, 16 Camoranesi, 18 Appiah, 20 Blasi, 21 Thuram, 22 Bonnefoi, 23 Kapo, 24 Olivera, 25 Zalayeta, 28 Cannavaro

I hope Capello pushes Thuram to RB role, and give Legro a chance.

I hope we can go on like this without these players...

But that can mean that they will be fit against Bayern, when I will be in the Olympiastadium...
Take me with you:D
