Peruzzi is a world champion without playing a game. My point is that being a "world champion" means dog shit.
But Grosso played all tournament, won the penalty to get past Australia, scored the key goal to beat Germany, and scored the clinching penalty in the World Cup final shootout. So as far as 2006 goes, credit where it is due to Grosso. In 2011, it's irrelevant.

No, we wouldn't. Too many problems; Quag is a good player, but his presence wouldn't have changed our season. We were playing like shit and getting results. Failure was preeminent; it was bound to happen, and it did. We continued playing like shit, and the results didn't come our way.
Of course there is no way of knowing this, but it's a nice guess.

Of course not, but past events are a good indicator of future trends, and Quag has never been decisive for any of his clubs throughout his entire career. We were still playing like shit when he was on form. In fact, the only reason we were winning was because he was scoring goals for us and getting in excellent positions to capitalize on the few opportunities that came our way. Eventually, all purple patches come to an end. Granted, we would have amassed a few more points had he been present, I'm sure that throughout the course of a season results even themselves out, and as it stands we don't deserve to be in 4'th place, because we haven't earned the right to be there.

Like last week's game against Lazio (4:45am here in Aus), I wont be waking up to watch this game.

I'll record it, but Ill check livescore as I wake up to see what the result is. Let's hope its a positive one.

4.45 am is much better than 1.45. At least u can go to bed @ 10, then wake up to watch the game.
You're not wrong but my sleeping pattern is all over the place these days, I think it's best that I don't put myself through the torture of watching a Delneri coached Juve at stupid o'clock.

Next season will be back to normal though LOL

How do you explain the drop in form of Krasic and Aquilani that came at the same time as Quagliarella's injury?

IMO the injury to Quag is what put the pressure on Krasic resulting in his form going down. With Quag there was some form of equilibrium for Krasic to share the creative needs to the team. Once Quag went down, it fell entirely on Krasic and he simply just got marked out of games when teams figured out our system...and we all know that didn't take long.

As far as Aqui...I think Melo's little suspension didn't help, perhaps getting his 90 mins legs back as well needed time and continuity. Knowing how our defense loves long balls bypassing midfield probably had its fair share of blame in his drop of form because he just couldn't get involved as he wanted to. Put Marchisio besides him playing out of position, and not so good Pepe too and strikers like the retarded Amauri, always injured IQ and a never fit Toni in the front line, Aqui never was really able to do what he does best. His options were low.

I think Quagliarella's off the ball movement brought the best out of Krasic and with two dynamic players up front made Aquilani's job easier in sending balls. Quagliarella might not be the best of players, regardless of history or his form with Juventus but the player is technically gifted and his absence not only hurt us in the goal scoring department but in the movement in midfield.

I agree that the defence was not something to be proud of but all of a sudden we lost a big factor we had in forward that affected the midfield at the same time. Melo's suspension added also to the midfield problems and all that happened with a shaky defence and a limited coach.
