Talking about the Golden Ball, a reliable source on Italian tv today said that on Novermber 11, when the 50 nominations will be declared, there will be 13 players who play in the Italian Serie A. The race is obviously between Maldini and Nedved, but the latest rumour is that Maldini has the edge :(

Let's hope Milan lose the Super Intercontinental Cup....

Experimental game by Lippi. Sadly Micolli was pushed far to the left and he did not function well in that position. However he did well when brought in deeper. There were so many shuffles by Lippi you'd have thought it was a practice session.

IM very sad because i have a feeling that maldini will win the golden ball.

The fact that he won the champions league is what is making the difference!!.

I think that nedved must shine in next satyrday´s game... to gain some points.

If anything, this match has demonstrated our deep squad depth this season .. With the additions of Maresca, Miccoli, Appiah, and Legro and without any important departures, we have really become stronger and that shows in our character ..

About Nedved's chances to win he Golden Ball, I'd say that it's has narrowed down between him and Maldini .. but Neddy has the advantage of representing his national team and a succesful Euro2004 qualifying campaign might give him the edge ..

strange why everyone underate Miccoli's contribution in the last match... in my eyes, he is the man of the match.. very lively and have 4/5 decent shot on goal...it was he and the Brescia keeper have some personal battle out there in that game..:undecide:

Miccoli was class in the brescia match and was very unlucky not to score.

He was a big problem for the brescia defenders and that is what we are waiting for him, a player who create truuble in the defense.

I've seen Micolli way better than that.

Im not saying Vieri is not a good striker, he is one of the worlds best. What I am saying is that Vieri will never leave you in awe, his goals are pretty basic, tap in's or headers and all inside the box. Inter owes alot to him, we would have gotten nowhere if it was not for Vieri. But in reality, a player like vieri will never be player of the year. Vieri is the perfect example of a power forward (sounds like basketball), but he uses his strength and precision finishing to score at the cost of pace and finesse.

Miccoli was good, but not man of the match.

Agreed. Miccoli was playing too wide but he had to since Nedved was on a free role. The times he ventured into the central positions, he created way more danger. Had a wonderful 1-2 with Trez and another fabulous 1-touch player (together with the former, ADP, Camo and Nedved) These rapid passes/plays are what the team needs to open up defences. Good inside forward play by the wide men instead of crossing aimlessly Trez.

Camo gave a lot of penetration on the right and had a really good game.

Likewise Davids, who enjoyed a more attacking role than usual and had a splendid individual game. Maybe he could be relieved of some of his defensive duties to go forward more if he improves on his final ball.

Appiah was slightly disappointing and mis-passed in very dangerous positions. Doesn’t have the experience and composure of Tach yet.

Puzzling move of the day was subbing Tudor (who played like he was having a stroll in the park) in for Camo instead of Ferrara. Perfect opportunity for Maresca but he came in too late to impact the game.

Yes, thats true about appiah... IMO he did a 50/50 game,.,,, in some opportunities did splendid passes,,, but in other he failed a lot of them.
About Tach,, yeah he is more experienced.. but his passes are crap almost always too.. he is better in stopping attacks.

About Maresca... yeah this was a golden opportunity for him... i would be cool to see him playing all the second half in that position!!.

i didnt like the way camoranesi played, i think he spoiled juve's flow with the exception of his good run to set up trez's goal.

maldini might win it, he's at the end of his career and just won the CL and the captain of AC Milan, im bidding for him to win.

I like that kit, but I have a question to ask. It looks pretty black to me, but people are telling me that it's actually dark purple. Can anyone confirm this? :undecide:

Watching the game I thought it was charcoal colour (greyish rather than black). I think the collar is really bad cos it's completely black and just doesn't match with the rest of the shirt. It hsould be without a collar so it would look better.
