Juventus beat Bologna thanks to Cannavaro and Zalayeta goals, both scored in the first half, like the Rossoblu one by Giunti. The Bianconeri and Milan, who won in the early away match in Florence, will get to the direct clash next Sunday with equal points (76).

Bologna are first to take the initiative, turning defence into attack with Amoroso, whose left-footed shot ends a little wide of the post. Then it’s Capello’s side who’s in control of the game and take the lead on 18’ minutes: Camoranesi’s cross shot from the right flank to Cannavaro who heads it in (1-0). A fine finish from Pessotto from the edge of the box is volleyed by the goalkeeper and it’s the prelude to the double score that comes two minutes later, after an action quite similar to that of the first goal. It’s Camoranesi from the right flank again, he crosses to the midfield and this time the winning deflection comes from Zalayeta (2-0). On 27’ minutes, Bologna reduce their distance thanks to a winning free kick by Giunti (2-1). On 28’ minutes, Juventus attack again, but Del Piero’s free kick ends slightly wide of the post. In the final minutes into the first half, Thuram clears Mehni’s cross upfront and a drive from Bellucci is easily saved by Buffon.

The second half starts with a weak tempo and few are the action worth the note. On 19’ minutes, a fine action by Nedved who pass in to Del Piero, deflected to the bottom line. On 23’ minutes, the captain is replaced by Trezeguet, on his comeback after a long break due to his ankle problems. On 26’ minutes, Camoranesi shoots a free kick, Zambrotta nods it in, but the ball misses the goal. One minute later, Nedved’s finish from the close range is cleared by Pagliuca, Trzeguet shoots back but the goalkeeper saves again. On 33’ minutes, Olivera substitutes Camoranesi. On 37’ minutes it’s still Nedved and Trezeguet: great drive from the Czech, Pagliuca clears, the ball gets to the Frenchman and it ends slightly high over the bar, but the game had been stopped for offside. On 39’ minutes, Zalayeta attempts on goal with a right-footed shot and Pagliuca clears. On 42’ minutes, it’s Bellucci who attempts on goal but the ball is off the post. Capello substitutes Zalayeta with Kapo. On 47’ minutes it’s the very Kapo who moves forward from the midfield, passes to Nedved in the box and the Frenchman’s shot is finally saved.
