Most of the world outside of Italy probably didnt see the match, not too many networks want to show one hell of a pitiful team play another that is winding down the same road......can you blame them ???
I also didnt see the match, but have saw highlights. The goals were great, but according to Channel 4 the defense was sub-par. No surprises there.
I think I'll wait to comment more once I see what Denco thought of the match. I dont trust Glenn's analysis. He probably thought Juve played a great game against Roma, despite the scoreline............
I dont know if you trust me.. but i'll give you anyway my analysis.
Juve has a big big problem. The problem is that we have no quality in the midfield. We miss somebody like Pizarro, you know what i mean? Somebody like Sousa used to be. A real playmaker. So there's no good play for us. Only thing this team can do is to outrun the other teams. We can do it with Zambrotta 100%, Nedved 100%, Camoranesi 100%, even Di Vaio 100%. But to be a phisical team and not a team with quality player (like Roma or Milan) means that, if you are not 100% but 50%, you got hella problems. Cause you dont run like you have to, and you dont have enought quality to let the ball run for yourself (like Milan does, like Real does, like Roma does). Right now, after 2 seasons where we've outranned the opponents, we've finished the fuel. That means we cant outrun opponents no more, at least not in that spectacular way we did last year. So now Zambrotta looks like a normal player (altought he's still one of the bests), Nedved looks like a normal player (altought he's still one of the bests), Thuram looks like a normal player, etc..
The only two quality players are Camoranesi and Maresca. But Maresca is injured, and Camoranesi cant play 60 games a year.
So that's the problem. We are only phisical right now. And we have finished fuel. That's why Roma outplayed and OUTRANNED us! That's why we've had all them problems against Depor. Cause they know how to play soccer, we dont. We know how to RUN.
BUT.....
Usually Lippi's teams are in good condition in the last 3 months of the season. That's why we gotta keep faith in them. Cause if they'll come back to outrun opponents, they'll back to win and play well.
It's all a phisical thing with Lippi's teams.
GOOD THING: If we are 100% ok, nobody can beat us (look at Real last year)
BAD THING: if we are not 100% ok, everybody can beat us.
Yesterday we wasnt 100% ok. So we've suffered Ancona a lil bit. But hey, we've still won 3-0, easy one, 3 goals in 45' and game over! Remember Roma did 0-0 against Ancona. And Milan won 5-0, but Ancona outplayed them till the refree gave Milan a fake penalty (who "unlocked" Milan, who played better from that moment).
So.. i aint tripping about Juve-Ancona. We had to win, and to spend the less power possible. We did it, with no problems. So.....
