You have a point but I’m not sure if it’s a general rule of thumb. Some clubs do it and some clubs don’t. Did all of those guys have a full pre-season with their new clubs? I feel like with Juve, you would have thought that at least Rabiot would start since he’s played almost every game in pre-season.

Also, how high profile the player is probably has an impact on it as I remember when Bale signed for Madrid, he practically got thrown straight in with no pre-season at all and just coming back from injury and away at a difficult stadium.

I'm not an irrational Allegri hater and even said he had my full support until we crashed out of the CL. Always gave him the benefit of the doubt since he managed to get the team to click in his first three seasons despite losing key players each year.
