Goals aplenty in today’s friendly
Today’s game saw nine goals and a great spectacle for the fans who had come to Vinovo to take in a friendly between Juventus and a side made up of players from the Primavera and Allievi sides.
The Bianconeri took to the training ground at lunchtime, ahead of their next home championship game against Genoa, which kicks off at 12:30pm.
With Storari playing in goal for the youth team, Del Neri started with Kirev in goal, Sorensen, Bonucci, Barzagli and Traore in defence, Pepe, Giandonato, Melo and Marchisio in midfield and Krasic supporting Matri up front. The 4-4-1-1, soon became 4-2-3-1 with Giandonato and Melo sitting in front of the defence, and the rapid changes in system soon reaped rewards. Six goals were scored in the first half, Matri and Pepe netting doubles and Barzagli and Felipe Melo scoring one each.
Many changes were made in the second half, with Grygera, Camilleri, Grosso, Salihamidzic, Martinez and Toni replacing Sorensen, Barzagli, Traore, Krasic, Melo and Matri. Three goals were scored in the second half of the game, two from Toni and one from Matri.
De Ceglie, Del Piero and Aquilani trained separately, while Gigi Buffon remained in the gym.
