It was a very unconvincing v, but a victory nonetheless!
You do realize how important a victory can be against a decent team like Genoa, dont you?
It is really sad that we were not worthy of that win though and i m surprised that we were pushed again by the ref!! Is this a mockery push or a pity push?
Anyway, i m glad that Amauri scored and i hope that will help him step up!

As for the system, this looks like the 3-5-2, 5-3-2 i was expecting us to see for ages!
3 CBs, 2 wingbacks and 1-2 DMs can give us enough defensive coverage and if the fullbacks give us the necessary width and crosses, it might word better than our current system!

We dont have enough AMFs to field a 4-2-3-1 (besides our forwards are back)
We dont have wingers for 4-4-2 and our wingbacks are not that solitary defensively.

The 3-5-2 can be a very versatile scheme, easily converted on the field at:
5-3-2, 3-4-1-2 even 3-4-3, depending on our current needs.

But this is exactly what didn't happen. There were enormous holes for Genoa players to operate within. And ok, Caceres played one successful cross but other than that his and De Ceglie's offensive contribution was poor as expected. This system is blasphemy because the key men in it are our poorest players, namely the wingmen.

Agreed, just that I don't think Caceres deserves MoM, he did made a cross, but he wasn't very involved in the whole game, although he did have a decent game.

And Zebina, it was like if hasn't there, he was dribbled countlees times by the opposition :)
Ah i got Caceres and Del Piero mixed up.

I thought Sissoko was really poor until later in the game when he started to break play up and get forward, he spent the earlier part of the match watching players run and pass around him and losing the ball.

It doesn't look like much contact, but those incidents never do because only a slight touch can send a player over because of the momentum, anyone who has ever played football will have experienced it. Either way, the touch was outside of the box, it was a 10% penalty.

so, im unable to find any highlight videos of the game, can someone tell did DP simulated a foul or did he simply tripped over his leg? :D
Del Piero:

“It was a clear foul, there was no sneakiness involved at all. There were no complaints on the field at the time, everything was alright.”

The importance of this win is big. Winning in Bologna next week is even more important.

After that the do or die period starts. On one side we'll get all our players back but on the other side we play away to 4 of the top 5 (Napoli, Inter, Sampdoria, Milan) and we also play away to Fiorentina. Those are 5 incredibly tough away matches, out of 13 remaining matches after Bologna.
In order to make the top 4 we'll have to have almost a perfect record in the home matches and away matches against the easier opposition (Bologna and Catania).

Anyway, this is our schedule:
Away matches:
- Bologna
- Fiorentina
- Sampdoria
- Napoli
- Udinese
- Inter
- Catania
- Milan

Home matches:
- Palermo
- Siena
- Atalanta
- Cagliari
- Bari
- Parma

You can see how important winning today was and how important it will be to win the, name-wise, easiest away match we'll have till the end of the season, next week in Bologna.
We have 8 away and 6 home matches left.

When I watched the game it did indeed look like Del Piero was tripped from the angle the camera was. Now I haven't watched any highlights, other angles, etc. but people saying that we won just because of the PK is rather harsh.

Our team played well, the formation worked well in keeping the ball at mid and on Genoa's side. However when the ball occasionally got through it led to danger on our 3 defensemen.

We played the better game, Buffon fumbled the ball which led Marco Rossi to a lucky goal which became the equaliser.

M. Rossi's goal was much more lucky than DP's penalty kick.

End of story, Juve > Genoa that game.

Lets win the next one too now boys.
