First game against Samp before we play Roma and Napoli and mercato closes. The right time to see if Danilo can be of any use there (and by extension of any use at all bc we know it's a no for RB/RWB).

I really hope Ramsey stays fit and does well under Pirlo. Assuming Khedira leaves Ramsey is the only midfielder we have that is good at making attacking runs (Rabiot did improve on this towards the end of the season). Last season we were way too predictable in attack because everything was played to feet. It's so much easier for the defensive team to defend when everything happens in front of you. There needs to be more vertical movement this season.

If Pirlo starts Ramsey and Danilo in this game it's because they fit his tactical schemes better than other players in his disposal at the moment. Also if we are to believe Sky's predicted lineup we're only starting new signings in positions where we really don't have other options at the moment.

New league for him and playing in a new team. We also have two capable players in Bentancur and Rabiot playing in his position. Having said all that I don't think it'd be huge surprise if he got a start.

He's more familiar with that role than anyone else we currently have available, because he played for Pep who uses his fullbacks in a similar fashion quite regularly.
