it was mainly conte's fault. he told him to pass it back, ronaldo was right there and was obviously expecting the pass so he knew how to react. had caceres tried to boot it forward, nothing would've happened or it would've bounced off of the real madrid player behind him and gone out of bounds.

I think i recall a simular thing with another of our players in his first season, in the midfield, where conte shouted something, it went wrong and we got a goal against because of it

was it, del piero ? It made quite the fuzz here

vucinic against parma? where conte told him to let the ball go past him and we conceded right away?

It was a pretty hilarious scene though :D. Once Conte told Martin to back pass and it went wrong, Conte hit his head with both hands like: Oh my F-ing God... what the hell did I just do?!!

It's the 2nd time he's done it though, the other was with Vuc against parma last year.

Barzagli :touched:

I remember when he was italy's big prodigy and we all had him in our dream teams

looked lost after bad last season at palermo and averageness in germany

So good to see how he came back, so very good

Why are we even comparing a 38 game marathon with a tournament where you have two shots at not being eliminated and one shot at winning it? They are both incredibly hard to win within their own right, I can't find any parameters where they can be compared.
You can compare by the calibre of teams present in the two competitions. Now assume that the CL was a 38 game points based competition. That automatically makes CL light years harder.

For all the doubts you pile on Llorente, I'm surprised you're so confident about that backline lineup.
it's not that i think their backline is great

it's that inler, hamsik and the rest of the napoli band of delinquents and charlatans live for matches like these.

Hamsik and Inler long shots alone are trouble.
