Refs should know better when dealing with those filthy, dirty, animals and their theatrics...

They took Camo's scalp but no card for it, bruised Diego to death and bullied Tiago around, diving and stalling with players coming in and out, as much as they could.
De Sanctis was taking his gloves off and stalling time from the very first minutes of the game and then cried like a virgin from Amauri's touch,
but it was us who took the red in the end...

But still, we dont have an excuse for this defeat, since serie B, we knew that this is what they do best...

Seriously. Not that Ferrara doesn't have room for criticism. But when you're making up completely nonsense for the reason why you largely fault him for the loss, just keep quiet. :mute:

I would still blame Ciro. If the defense were not organised well, not only the defense are blamed but also is the coach.

And for the subs, I believe that these were Ciro's faults. The first sub was very inexperienced. I agree that Ciro does not have any other choice, but at least he could tell Tiago to pay more attention on covering the right side, or even better let Poulsen to do that role. I remeber Poulsen did that very well for our left flank in the game against Fio. Having Tiago in the 4-4-1-1, we now have the same right flank as we did with the 4-3-1-2, i.e. no real winger to protect the right side and consequently our right wing is very vulnerable. Ciro failed to see that but Mazzari saw that and he brought Datolo in to tear our right flank apart.

I would say that the second sub was also a risky one. Poulsen was playing well and did won a lot of balls back. Subbed him out and we then had only Melo to do all the defensive tasks. Losing the third goal was inevitable. Ciro perhaps could have done better by subbing Tiago out instead(I know that would hurt Tiago but who care).

Now the last sub was completely Ciro's fault. Why replacing the most creative player in your team with an average one who was not able to hit the ball right? Especially when your team had to chase back? And Ciro did that several times already, as if De Ceglie is our saviour!
If you blame Ciro largely for the loss, you have to think that another coach would have fared significantly better in his place tonight.

I don't buy it. Yes, I don't understand why De Ceglie now is supposed to be one of our game-changers in attack. :wth: But the players lost focus on the pitch and paid dearly for it.

Ciro didn't help any with his subs. But the failure starts with the players on the pitch today.

I would love to hear what the Master Coaches we have here would have done in the scenario...an hour into the game you're up by 2 goals, when things start to go wrong, MF is getting stampeded, DF is all over the place and the opposition looks fitter than how they started the game...you look to the bench for options and this is what you see: Manniger, De Ceglie, Ariaudo, Immobile and some other dudes...

please, do tell what you would have done

It's clear that they would have stepped out on the pitch themselves to save the day, unlike LAZY Ciro

Well put. I really don't want to be defending Ferrara these days. But blame should go where it's due -- not because he's a scapegoat for frustrations in player performance.

Well I blamed the players equally as I blamed Ciro. Also I totally agree with you that the players lost their focus on the pitch and let Napoli fought back too easily.

But look at it this way: we have been stung by Napoli several times. We knew how dangerous they are, we saw how they made a come back in the last match against Milan, but we still let them did the same against us. An experienced coach should have been prepared a better gameplan with backup scenarios to deal with a team like Napoli, especially if you remember how they tortured us in the past.
The lack of such a gameplan and backup scnearios is another reason why I blame Ciro.

Still love him (Ciro) but I am really sad to see our team suffers like this. I really hope that Ciro can learn and improve quick but I doubt that given the current situation. Our board has done everything right for the transfer campaign, but I think I they have got it wrong when appointed an inexperienced coach like Ciro.
