Another match, the same issues. We are gifting goals and chances the moment. The midfield isn't working and Danilo is awful. Serious issues. Our side doesn't seem able to string games together, we are gifting halves. Serious work for Motta to do and he has to find answers quick.

Our focus at the moment is top 4, we don't have quality enough depth to fight for the title while playing in the CL especially.

Vlahovic is far too isolated and the midfield is static. I just wonder if a flat 4 3 3 might be a better option. Allowing for more cover for those attacking players and getting more runs from deep. I would even trial Koop playing in the midfield 2 and having Yildiz play closer to Vlahovic, something resembling more a 4 4 2.

Realistically though right now scoring isn't as much of an issue, our backline is just giving away chances, I do think a lot of that can be fixed with never playing Danilo again though. We definitely need a center back in January and a backup striker.

It's not weaker. It's just as lacking. On paper it's maybe even a touch better.
The difference is that the terrorist knew the squad's limitations and resorted to jihadball strategy to grind out 1:0 wins, while Motta is just a Lolzilian amateur.

It’s hard to sum up that shit show. Erratic end to end stuff mixed with comedic defending made it look like a Sunday league game.

Aside from that we were second to most loose balls, played errant passes and appeared lethargic.

I don’t think I could stomach watching a centre back pairing of Danilo and Gatti again, in 30 years of watching this side I cannot recall a worse defensive pairing in a competitive game.
