Typical Italian mentality. No wing backs? No problem, stuff the team with more DMs.
We have players like Giovinco, Morata and Coman or even Pereyra who can play out wide in a 4-3-3 but hell no. No team I know in Europe starts against a bottom side with 5 natural DMs. Playing not to lose rather than playing to win.
Most coaches around the world would start with a back 4 and have 1 or 2 attacking mids.

And yeah, Romulo isn't injured anymore but has only been back training for two days or so...
