why bench Morata after his first start where he did well?
The same reason why he Coman became a terminal bench option after his decent outing/showing against Chievo. It is called the "LOB" Syndrome.

That is exactly what stops us from development. When we have a chance against a relatively easy team, we don't take it to try a more adventurous formation and approach. These opportunities and attempts are the only chance for us to try to field a different shape that will most likely bring results in bigger competitions. Time and time again, Conte did it and now Allegri is doing it, we see us fielding the same people (regardless of the depth) and the same formation and the same approach against whichever team we play.
  We are playing at home against one of the worst teams in the division. If we don't take minor risks now, when the fuck will we?!

Anyway, a minimum requirement here should be a 2-0 win. a clear margin of victory and a clean sheet against an abysmal Palermo side shouldn't be too difficult to achieve.

I guess what that suggests is that we can easily switch between formations..

Well I guess that might explain why we aren't playing a back 4...No natural RB or LB.

Morata on the bench? isn't he banned?

Lichtsteiner not playing?

Pereyra at RBW?

Can't wait to to watch Pirlo slowing down the pace and losing possession, and llorente doing literally nothing but boxing out defenders like he's going for a rebound, except with his back to the goal.

aren´t pogba and licht our most-used players this season? perfect game to give them a rest.
and stop making it sound like pirlo is the worst player in history....
furthermore, morata played 90min in midweek, llorente 0. llorente needs to get his confidence up asap -> perfect game to start him.

complain about the formation as much as you want but the chosen players all make sence imo.

btw: romulo back already?! :)
