I really don't think any of our midfielders have been vital this season. They've actually been below average.
I think our whole team has been below average, especially their brain and how they approach the game.

But even despite that I think Vidal is one of the main engines we have and he can always decide the game on his own.

great first half, and finally the players played with grinta and hunger. vidal , tevez and llorente was very good. bonucci should be investigated for betting on a genoa goal. tried to gift one the whole game.

People that are making excuses and are content with the apathy show in the last quarter of that match have short memories considering Fiorentina was a week ago. Watch that game and see what happens when you take your foot off the pedal against a side that has some attacking power.

Some make excuses, like we are playing Wednesday, or the game is over, or whatever, but the reality is, it would only take one flukey goal but the opposition when you're 2-0 to change the game completely, and when you're already in the cruise control mindset, it's hard to get back in the rythym which is what happened against Fiorentina and can happen against any team if we're not careful.

If we really want to close a match, a more intelligent thing to do would be to control possession and starve the opposition of the ball towards the end of a game, instead of sitting deep in our own half inviting trouble. Luckily today Genoa were complete shyte, but that sort of tactic will hurt us in future games like it has in the past.

Finally a convincing performance to build upon coming at a critical stage in the season where solid build up is really needed. With somehow easier games coming up we need these to develop character for the last three matches in the CL and actually get the results we need there. The aggressive defensive was the most impressive the entire match especially that it stayed even when the team stepped off the gas pedal in the final 15 minutes or so. Unlike against Fiorentina, Genoa were never going to threaten or come close to the goal.

Buffon 6.5

Barzagli 6.5
Bonucci 6.5
Chiellini 6.5

Isla 6.5
Vidal 7.5
Pirlo 7
Pogba 7
Asamoah 7

Tevez 7.5
Llorente 6.5

Giovinco 6
De Ceglie 6
Padoin 6

We didn't allow a single shot on goal
If you can't see we had the right mentality today, then there's no reason discussing.
