sorensen pretty much plays as a third centreback, even when deployed as a right back. So its hardly as if we have no idea how he will function in his more natural position...As for the vast experience of a Legro who has barely played this season set against the youthful exuberance, and pretty consistently impressive form of young Sorensen??? With Grygera and Chiellini either side of him, I feel safer with Sorensen, than with Legro. The old jesus freak is slow, and mainly more an asset in the air than on the grass. Sorensen's tackling ability seems far superior to that of Legro...and tackling, for me, is the prime requirement of a defender.

Do you feel pace is a key attribute when taking on Crespo?

Do you feel Crespo s going to spend much time running with the ball at the Juve defence?

Way to miss the point. Anyway, it's clear that you think that using players because they're young is more important than using players who would more likely help us get a win; so, forget it.

Forget about the age.

Sorensen monsters attackers, tackles hard, has pace, and is a natural CB.

Why would I even contemplate a slow, outdaded, can't defend any better, monk in his place?

if Legro was as solid in the tackle, as I perceive Soresen to be, and he was match sharp...I would opt for Legro. But I prefer a player who is match sharp, and stronger in the tackle. When asked to step up so far, the young dane has done what has been asked of him...

For a defender who marks, covers, tackles, and reads the game well, pace is not so important against an old pro like crespo. Only in terms of reading the game, do I see Legro as clearly more useful than Sorensen. He is slower and weaker in the challenge, stronger in the air...pros and cons with both eh??? And my personal choice would be Sorensen. I think these tests against seasoned pros can only do him good...and Home to Parma, IS, one of our easier games...at least on paper.

my opinion is nothing to do with 'oh! LETS GIVE THE LITTLE ONES A CHANCE'...and everything to do with What I see as our strongest team.

A very cunning, intelligent, takes great lines, sort of forward.

Legro would melt against him.
Perhaps, but he has a better chance against him than Sorensen.

Concentration is the most important thing against Crespo, and I still back Legrottaglie over Sorensen in that regard.

Still, it is interesting to see how many people want to put Zdenek 'The Worst Player in the World' Grygera in their team to play Giovinco.

grygera was doing fine before his injury...occupying a similar role to what sorensen has done since...more of a back three, than a flat back four. and in a back three, grygera can be more effective, than as a wide right back expected to bomb up and down the flank. As with Sorensen, he is more comfortable tucking in alongside other centrebacks...

Your points makes sense, red. I would be happy to see Legro and sorensen, or sorensen and grygera...i will simply be happy to see the lads back on the pitch, hopefully showing the same spirit which has been a breath of fresh air to us all, for most of the last few months.

most eagerly, i wish to see Big Phil/Aquilani and Krasic. Is our savage serb fit enough though???? I read something of back problems...

I would expect Juve's right back to have to play pretty wide to mark Giovinco.

Staying narrow would risk letting Giovinco get the ball under control and start running, which is when he can be dangerous.

Much better that the right back stays wide and tight to him so he can out-muscle Giovinco before he has the chance to get the ball under control.
