Has anyone noticed how there is a similar pattern in season 2007/08 and this season?

September and October weren't good last season. We lost at home to Udinese, we lost away to Napoli and we had 2 draws. This season we also lost twice and had 3 draws in these months. Then we hit form in November and December but after Christmas we lost to Reggina and Fiorentina and played 1:1 with Catania and Cagliari. In the second part of February, as well as in March and April, we made the best results when we beat Inter, Milan, Roma, Napoli and we destroyed Lazio, Atalanta, Parma.

This year, at least until now, we can see the same things. Average/bad September, October, great November and December, and we were again bad after Christmas, in January and early February.

Does this have anything to do with our trainings? With our pre-season and winter preparations?
You know, slow start and everything is set to hit form at the right time.

Different coaches have different methods. Capello's teams had great start, great mid-season, but they were falling apart come the last 2-3 months. Ancelotti's Milan is always slow starter and always have a great finish. Lippi was also the strongest in the later stages. All this has to do a lot with the preparations and with the training methods.
I guess late February, March, April and May will give us a more clear answer on this, but so far things are shaping up in that way.
interesting trend analysis, alen :pint:

Dearest Alen, I am not suggesting that we play anyone else other than the usual suspects, because we don't really have any other options at our disposal at present, and herein lies the problem.

I would sub Giovinco in for Nedved, and perhaps Ariaudo for Mellberg, thus shifting Mellberg to RB in place of Grygera. As for the front line, I think we should start out with Del Piero and Trezeguet, as Amauri needs a rest.

As for maintaining levels of consistency and performance throughout the season, I will not disagree with you there. However, you might agree with me that even when we were playing consistently and notching up positive results, our performances were hardly convincing. That is my problem with the current squad. Even when we get results, we don't dominate, and we are always at risk of putting ourselves in a hole, like against Bate, Real and Zenit. I watched almost all of our CL games, and can tell you that the result was always at risk, and we were always in danger of conceding in almost every single game. As for our Serie A matches, please don't get me started, as I can compile a whole list of unconvincing performances.

Not quite the same Amaurisimo.

I would take out Grygera, switch Mellberg to RB, and insert Ariaudo into the CB slot alongside Legro. I would also like to see Marchisio start, as apparently he is fit again.

See the difference now? ;)

but how do you know if Marchisio is match fit again, also poulsen/tiago can be winning combination... in regards to Ariaudo i was also impressed last time i saw him, but too many changes will not do us well, especially at the back were we stink sometimes, dont u think so?

Not that many changes. Just take out Grygera, but Ariaudo in the center, and watch Mellberg control the RB slot in ways Grygera never thought imaginable. I think Ariaudo has good positional sense, is strong in the tackle, able to read the game well, not too shabby in the air, an overall intelligent and somewhat pacey player.

I read somewhere that Marchisio will be ready for this game, so I would start him with Sissoko.

i understand, but also u said, trez, gio..camo probably, so there are many changes..

I would rest Sissoko as he was working tirelessly in recent games, but Poulsen was great in last two games, so , kinda reward...
Anyway, it will be good game , and great win for us..Hopefully inter will draw with Melan

Milan have Kaka injured and Bonera suspended, so it will be difficult for them to get anything...
There are some rumors that apart from Rijkaard and Mancini , Ancelotti is in frame for Chelsea job..Maybe after this game even more
