The only times Ciro will be playing with one attacker upfront is when we have couple of injured forwards like what happened in the last 25days. Once Del Piero and Iaquinta are back he's playing with two.

Going back to a 4-3-1-2 NOW would be a mistake imo!.. No matter if we want Ale to play or not!..

I would play him in the last 35 min, sub him with Giovinco and stick with the 4-2-3-1...
I dont mean only you when saying below, but people who completely write off the formation point blank make little sense. I dont get it, the problem with 4-3-1-2 was with limited attackers who couldnt intelligently link up with Diego or the (limited) midfield in general, just being clumsy oafs who wait on the long balls, making us predictable and leaving Diego solo (remember Camo was out for some games too, so even worse, playing infromt of 3 DMs, ugly sight, with dissapointing results, but it still does not mean that formation is useless in different conditions...).

I seriously have NO idea why 4-3-1-2 is automatically written out despite when one of the two attackers would be Del Piero (Alen said it well in earlier post), who has the exact qualities needed to make it work, someone who drops deeper and links up the attack and mid when needed with good feet and creative responsibility, playing off one twos with Diego, holding up the ball etc. Basically what Gio is doing but in slightly more advanced role. So this is to all who keep harping on this, seriously, what gives???

Save the speech.

I'm yet to see one reasonable good post saying why it's bad playing 4-3-1-2 having Del Piero, Trezeguet, Amauri and Iaquinta back. Ciro was unlucky with that formation, unlucky with timing as-well as we had several injured players and we couldn't find the right chemistry for this.

Also playing 4-3-1-2 will strengthen more our defense because as far as I know we conceded pretty much playing 4-2-3-1. Not that I'm against it but I don't see one good reason why not to play with two attackers.

Why would it be a poor choice? If we have all our attackers fit why would it be?
Firstly if Alex plays then we can't really call it a 4-3-2-1 becasue of his predisposition to play in the Del Piro postion off either one of the strikers so I'll go with the following.

Amauri-Trez doesn't really work
Iaquinta-either of them isn't a good choice because Iaquinta is an average player.

We have One God, One World Class and One Average, whereas in Gio and Diego we would have two World Class soon to be Gods.

You're exaggerating here mate.

I believe Trezeguet-Del Piero upfront with Camoranesi-Diego behind and one of them rotating with Seba is too good.

Camoranesi is having an excellent season and one of the best so far in the league, while Diego needs someone like Dp to link up with him and Trezeguet can't ask for more looking at the players at his disposal.

Ciro will give it a try sooner or later and will see how it goes.

That's why I discounted a 2 up front with alex, in the first sentence of my post.
