Great formation Rab, i would hate to see us with two DMs too...
I would prefer the DM/Zanetti to cover up for Giovinco lack of defensive coverage, swapping places with Marchisio in this scheme. Just to make this a little more balanced. Other than that, its a very good formation, able to overcome the Mutu-less Fiorentina in our home!

as pavel is naturally right footed i would swap him and giovinco.

Not exactly the right time to be experimenting with tactics, wouldnt you think?

The game is crucial. and is hard enough with the absences of key players like Sissoko, Camoranesi and to a lesser extent Molinaro.

Moreover the formation was tried and failed miserably in the start of the season. Gio is still not dominant enough or mature enough to have a tactical setup built around him like that just yet. Not to mention it would be way too narrow, as the fullbacks don't offer enough attacking impetus.
