We won for almost a decade and now we'll suck for a while. Hopefully there'll be a big rebuild in the summer so we can go back to the winnings ways again asap. That's normal cycles for football clubs. :boh: Forza Juve
Hopefully there are many more fans like you who support the club in tough times and show patience

Yeah until they ban us from the transfer window for two years after we're found guilty of false accounting. Then we'll be stuck with the same garbage rotting in the team for years

I don't think the overall performance was too bad. We limited them to only one decent chance all game where Zapata needed a brilliant shot to score. Biggest problem for me is sharpness in attacking positions. Both Chiesa and McKennie could have done better when they were basically through on goal but just weren't quite decisive enough in getting the shot away. I don't think there was a massive difference in the overall performance between this game and the Lazio game for example.

I think defensively apart from some lapses in concentration we are showing good signs of improvement, now we just somehow need to get this group of players to somehow execute on the attacking end of the pitch. Morata to the rescue.

    Apparently Allegri was outcoached yesterday

Yeah it was a cagey affair that could have gone either way. It's a massive problem that we're underperforming our xG by nearly six goals over the whole season. During Allegri's first tenure we had the habit of over-performing our xG by quite a margin.

What do you put that down we seemed clueless with Atalanta crowding out in the box

I don't know, we didn't really create a lot of quality chances, other than Dybala's freekick. And most of our chances came at the end of the match when we finally realized gee, we might lose. Atalanta definitely set the pace, especially in the first half. The majority of the match was pretty poor play on our part, which obviously the stats might not show.

Quality of finishing is one problem. Both Higgy and Ronaldo were better goalscorers than anyone currently in our squad. Obviously we have problems in chance creation as well and I think major part of that is down to technical problems like not being able to bypass the opposition press because of wayward passing in the build-up phase.

if you look at it in a vacuum, ronaldo wasn't a bad signing.

it was a bad signing because of the incompetent management in place. you don't sign ronaldo just to play ramseys and rabiots behind him, and you don't sign ronaldo if you can't afford him under any circumstances. but ronaldo has nothing to do with the incompetence of our management.

Nobody said Ronaldo isnt great. Its exactly what you said - If you want him to look amazing he needs great players around him. He also won last year`s top goalscorer IIRC.
Ronaldo was definitely top 3 players in the world when we got him but we would have used the money much better should we get a midfielder and a striker for the fee and wages we spent on Ronaldo.

Individual wise - There were only 3 individuals who stand out and one of them was constantly injured the other is Messi of course. It was still a bad deal in terms of what we could have done with the fee and wages in the performance aspect.
