Now i am actually starting to be worried lol

    - - - Updated - - -

Hopefully history doesn’t repeat itself in this case.
It's still early days. By mid season at least one of two things need to happen for Motta to be deemed making progress - we start building a play style and identity, which is what a bunch of people wanted with this appointment or we need to start winning and winning consistently, even if it's 1-0's.
What I do find worrying is that for whatever reason Motta is reluctant to use the midfield replacements we got in this season. If they are not a fit for the system he wants to play, then that's not on him.

Probably hasn’t yet figured out how to fit all of them together, there’s still time though, most signings haven’t even got a proper run of games as it’s still way too early into the season and had to deal with some injuries plus the international break in between, however the biggest worry atm is that we are struggling in the final third and seem to always be exposed to dangerous counters if not for Bremer bailing us out on many occasions, we know it’s hard to play well and create clear chances in tight games against good defensive sides but that’s specifically why he is here, to improve that, and fortunately time is still on his side even if thus far it’s been a mixed bag.

That turd Conte accomplished what he came from.Park the bus all the time looking for a draw.We cannot accomplish to penetrate their defense. We don't have clear chances.... .
Motta must find a starting mid duo_Obviously Duglas Luiz isn't.

Yea on the bright side, we look extremely organized and steady in defensive transition! I trust Motta. We just need a Dusan replacement and we are gold

can you explain what dusan replacement will do when the team spends entire match back pass and side passing?

People need to get out of this warped idea of blaming every issue in the offense on Vlahovic.

Yes he has been off form and lacking, but we aren't creating enough direct chances whatsoever in these games opponents just sit back at.It's a systematic issue for the offense and final third. If given space they can score but settled defences they are stumped completely so far.

It won't magically fix itself by replacing Vlahovic alone. Which we can't until next summer, so we aren't about to spend a whole season blaming our eventual inability to penetrate bunker defences on Vlahovic entirely. We just subbed him out at half time and didn't create a single real chance, just a half chance one.

look, that is because the team couldn’t find space to pass into the final third.

The modern number 9 is a striker that drops almost into his own defensive third, to pull opponents defenders out of position. When this happens, space open up in opponents defense so that key passes can be made either for him or wingers to run onto and achieve a 1 v 1 against opponent GK.

trust me. The moment we get someone like Firmino or Tevez, our team will suddenly be creating many chances.

    Missed the game yesterday @Lion
Just watched it & it's obvious that we can't do shit when the opponents park the bus. Good thing is that the opponents can't do shit either.
One unforgivable moment was when Cambiaso lost the ball & he just jogged back despite him being the only one to cover resulting in an open shot for Politano.
This was around 52-54 minutes. Can you get a clip? @Alex-444

I think we need to be honest with ourselves that we spent 160M on players who aren’t that good and can’t change games, so we have to deploy Cambiaso as a pivotal player out of his normal position because he is one of our only game changers. We should have taken that 160 and used it on someone like Julian Alvarez instead of beach bums.

Wait hold up Barthez nephew, you think having a false 9 is only way you can create chances in an attack?

Or Zirkzee we really missed an opportunity to sign him as he is so crucial to Motta system and tactics.

no. But statistically, in modern football, it is the most effective way to attack when you want to play a possession-heavy tactics, which I believe is Motta’s idea. Build from the back, retain possession etc.

Dusan will work for a counter attacking team that sits deep, play tons of direct long balls. He may get 10 long balls his way in a game, and maybe run on to convert 1 of it. The other 9 times, the ball will be won by opponents in 50/50 and opponents may then turn it into scoring opportunity. This tactic works for smaller team who are happy to play out high scoring draws or at least score goals to decrease deficit.
