I dont know what to expect. backlash by all the players and a great game or a continued spiral into the abyss. A piece of Ranieri's history made me feel weary. Its the description of his 2nd Valencia stint

After a bright start, in which the Mestalla outfit picked up 14 out of a possible 18 points and beat Porto to lift the European Super Cup, Valencia went into a slump from October, winning once in 7 games and getting knocked out of the Champions League, in no small part thanks to a humiliating 5-1 drubbing by Inter in which midfielder Miguel Angulo was sent off for spitting. After a brief revival Valencia went another 6 games without a win from mid-January. Apart from his four Italian signings Ranieri was criticised for not playing Argentinean playmaker Pablo Aimar and persistent changes to formations and tactics, something carried forward by him from his Chelsea days.

He was sacked on February 25, 2005 after Valencia were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Steaua Bucharest. Valencia were sixth at the time of Ranieri's sacking.

In compenso, rientra Chiellini.

Un solo squalificato anche nel Genoa. Gasperini non potrà contare su Juric. Il match non avrà quindi entrambi i marcatori dell'1-1 dello scorso campionato al Ferraris.

from the official site. and if i read properly we have chiellini back but dont have palla, legro, camo, nocerino and zebina and thats if i read right, god i hope i didnt

Wilson, Paro, Bovo, Santos, Rubinho and Juric are definitely going to miss this game for Genoa. Boriello is in doubt. :weee:

Zebina will lose his mind and get carded, Palladino will get a yellow for a dive, Legro will get a yellow for handling the ball while jumping like a clown, Camoranesi will a card for kicking someone in the back.

Nocerino always gets booked anyway.

I don't know if someone already mentioned it, but do you guys think a good old Italian deal is already done and we'll easily get the 3 points ?

In Empoli we have Giovinco, Marchisio, Piccolo, Volpato and we got an incredibily easy 3:0 win where Empoli didn't even try to pass our midfield (just compare this with Milan-Empoli 0:1, Empoli-Roma 2:2 and even Inter-Empoli 1:0 where Empoli missed a penalty at the end and were very dangerous throughout the match)

Against Siena we got another very easy win and there we have De Ceglie, Bettega, Rossi. ( Siena has beaten Roma 3:0, drew with Milan 1:1 and made a lot of problems to Inter in their 2:3 defeat where the ref helped Inter)

So i was wondering if Genoa will be a similar case since we let them have Paro and Criscito ? Genoa don't need any points at all. They are safe from relegation and they have slim chances of winning a UEFA Cup spot.

Ok, Napoli beats my theory but God knows what plans we have with some of their starlets (Hamsik, Lavezzi, Gargano).

If thats the case why dont we buy players and send them to some other teams:D?
It's just a theory and it could be very far from the truth. But it's something to think about.

This isn't something new. Back in Moggi time half of Siena players were on loan from Juve and we know how easily we won the matches vs Siena. There were talks that Juve and Milan have half of the small teams in serie A.
To some of them we loaned players, to some we gave our help to sign a certain player, some we saved from relegation by handing them a win in the last rounds etc etc etc.
Just take a look at Milan and Reggina. In 2003/04 Milan already won the scudetto and two rounds before the end they let Reggina beat them. With that win Reggina saved themselves from relegation. After that, in 2004/05 and 2005/06 Milan-Reggina was the most boring match where Milan were scoring an early goal or two and the match ended that way.
Last year Milan again won in January and in the very last round, Reggina has beaten Milan and saved themselves from relegation by 1 single point advantage over Chievo.
What happened this year in Reggio was a 0:1 win by Milan where Reggina literally didn't pass the midfield.
Now compare this with how Reggina plays against us.

This year again we easily beat the teams where we have players on loan (Livorno, Empoli, Siena, Genoa). Milan suffer against every single team but they've beaten Genoa twice, very easy (they have Borriello on loan there), they've beaten Cagliari (Matri is there) and Sampdoria (Sammarco).
But what's the most dubious thing about Milan was their match against Empoli at the San Siro.
Milan have 4 or 5 loaned players to Empoli and everyone in the betting world was betting on Milan on that match. The odds on Empoli were huge but only the bookmaker Bwin, Milan's sponsor, had high odds on Milan and lower odds than the other bookies on Empoli. There were millions and millions placed in Bwin on Milan win on that match and the surprise of the season happened when Empoli have beaten Milan at San Siro.

I may be very far from the truth, but it's hard not to be suspicious.

I remember that and some other games and clubs at same time. I was ticket season holder at Chelsea - Jose first year in charge..
in middle of season CR had few injured players...Valencia won at home 2:0 in first leg, and in away game they played on very bad turf, i think it was snow or something, and they lost 2 nil. They played extra time but lost on penalties. It was bad match to see..
