One of our better performances of the season despite looking terrible for parts of the first and second half. But knowing that any match at the Artemio Franchi is always going to be a difficult task for us, combined with La Viola's recent form, we handled the match better than I expected.

During the first 20 minutes or so we dominated the match as our possession and passing was for the most part very good and not to mention our movement in Viola's half was also excellent, which basically led to the first goal. But after that spell we fell asleep for another half an hour when Prandelli brought on Pazzini...thus causing Thuram and Cannavaro more problems after just having to deal with Toni. Not to mention La Viola hitting the bar twice with Toni and Ujfalusi efforts that could have easily went in...Thuram and Abbiati partly at fault for those, as well as Chiellini. We always seem to fall asleep at one point during our matches and this is not exactly good to see.

Second half we came out on the pitch looking rather lethargic and we never really looked as convincing as in parts of the first 45. Neither side dominated the second half and while we did limit Fiorentina to just a few chances we could not create much either apart from some long shots that went wide. The best chance of the half came when Ibrahimovic just kicked the ball up in the sky for Trezeguet to jump over the fresh substitute Pancaro and nod down to Camoranesi who had almost a breakaway. Very embarrassing for Pancaro and that move essentially won the match for us...thank goodness we are so efficient in front of goal.

As for the tactics of the match I was worried about Fiorentina getting too many crosses off and troubling us in the air with the presence of Toni. Sure enough La Viola were able to get too many crosses off because we did not close down tightly enough on the wings and not even Thuram and Cannavaro can handle Toni in the air. Luckily the crossbar was on our side and helped us win the match. I loved the movement between Trezeguet and Zlatan up top at the start of the match, and for once I was impressed with the way Zlatan moved the ball around the pitch in the first half...making the smart passes and not giving the ball away too easily. The second half was more of a stalemate and I don't like these late Capello substitutions...if you're going to bring them on do it earlier.

Abbiati wasn't very good except for stopping a point-blank Pazzini shot.

Zambrotta was noticebly inept today for some reason and just looked out of sorts.

Thuram made some great tackles and errors alike, however almost any defender will have trouble containing Toni at this point in time.

Cannavaro was solid apart from letting Pazzini win the header right in front of him.

Chiellini was crapini for parts of the match, and I don't like how he continues to give the ball away on simple passes.

Camoranesi was great on the right flank and nicely slotted home the winner.

Emerson was again our best player in midfield as he slotted the through ball to Zlatan for the first goal and totally shut down the midfield again. He has outperformed Vieira in the last few matches and hopefully he will continue because he's crucial to our success.

Vieira was extremely poor today and I really don't know whats going on with him...one time he decided to switch the ball while standing directly in the center of the pitch, thus shooting the ball 20 metres into the stands....as well as other moments of madness. Looks like Mr. Hyde compared to our September and October Dr. Jekyll..

Nedved was invisible for most of the match and it's absurd how Mutu is not getting the start...just absolutely friggin absurd.

Trezeguet continues to show us why he's important to this side, and not worth letting go just to accomodate a player we don't friggin need in Cassano. David is in some of the best form of his career.

Ibrahimovic had a very good match, especially in the first half where he actually started to make the simple passes and not give the ball away too easily. Great improvement.

The other subs came on too late, especially Mutu.

woderfull! wonderfull!

comentator said that we didn't win in Firenze for 34 years,we did it finally and when Fiorentina is on top of his game.wonderfull match,I enjoyed it alot,I thank Capello for playing brave against Fiorentina.here is my ratings and toughts:

Abbiati:6.5
he did great saves, that saved our asses.he was lucky three times when the ball hit the post.the last one if he didn't do such a stupid mistake (which could cost us the game),I would give him "Man of the match".

Zambrotta:6.5
very good match.offensively he was better today.

Chiellini:5.5
I inssist this player is not a first team material.

Cannavaro:6.5
good match,he did his defensive job.

Thuram:7:star:
great job,he marked Toni the way he should,he made nice classy moves.he can kill opponets atack very calmly.

Camoranesi:6.5:star:
I am glad Capello saved him from that mess, and he is back to his form,he like usual gives bad crosses sometimes, but overall he was great, and he gave us the winning goal.

Nedved:6
he is very hard working,I apreciate that.but he is no longer the old great Nedved.
those long shots of him are no longer effective, but he is very hard working like I said,he helped us defensively also.

Vieira:6-6.5
He was ok,made some mistakes that could costs us a lot,and he was kinda agressive today.

Emerson:6.5
Good stuff, driblings, nice passes, good defending in the middle.

Trezeguet:6.5-7
he scored again and gave assist and missed some, hard working atacker, well done

Zlatan:7:star:
he gave assist, wasn't selfish as the rest call him,he gave other two or three "assists" that Trezeguet could score.the shot at the end of the match that was saved by Frey was great, but unlucky.did those great moves again, that sometimes wasn't neccecary.

Capello:7:star:
Well done,he was Brave against on-form Fiorentina.he prepared the team very well.it was very open match, everything could happen,we could lose, but he insisted to give us another victory.well done

M.O.M: Zlatan or Thuram one of those two.
I agree to that Chiellini is not first team material. His movement on the left was horrible we need Zambo back! As For Thuram he was pure class, He silenced them very calmly which was outstanding. As for Camo he is in contention for man of the match i havent seen him play like that for a while. His great moves(stopping on a dime) passes ,goal were just amazing! Zlatan well he keeps on amazing me...he played with great composure today which was really great plus he was unselfish and had some great moves.....Capello whatever you told them before the match keep it up because juve played outstanding today and really shined like the champions we are.....Forza Juve:star: :star:

GRAZIE PRANDELLI

YOU WON THE GAME FOR

JUVE!!

Juve did deserve at least a draw today, and the victory was just a proof that this team actually is as good as it's hyped to be, as for example Trap said... Good teams need good luck too! What can I say, victory in the home of those who hate Juve the most, victory in there where the fridges are flying and streets are filled with purple and anti-Juve movement is at it's strongest when Juve comes to town.

Chiellini - 5.5
Camo - 7.5
Emerson - 7
Vieria - 5.5
Neddy - 6

Capello - 6 (and he would have got a 5 if we had draw, because he should have made some sub's earlier in the game)..

Forza This Team !
Yeah Forza Juve!

Great ratings!! Vieira to me wasn't focused today, he had a crappy game actually.
I'm surprised Cap didn't sub him.

MOM must be given to Camo!!

for what's it worth...

Abbiati: Perhaps not the best goalkeeper in the world and was beaten more than once in the game, I do think hes improving and made some crucial decisions, blocking Brocchi's shot was one... 6

Zambrotta: Decent in the game, improved tremendously in the second half, defended well. 7

Thuram: Brilliant, simply brilliant. Toni lost the battle with him. 7.5

Cannavaro: A bit shaky IMO 6.5

Chiellini: Nervous and beaten, although he did put in a nice through ball and made an excellent throw in. Shaky under pressure. 6

Camoranesi: Goalscorer and I thought he was extremely wonderful today! His passes, his skills, everything. Dont recall anytime that he lost the ball in this game. 7.5

Emerson: He did well. He managed to keep the ball, a strong player. 7

Vieira: Most would disagree, but I thought he held on to the ball for far too long and always lost it in the end and perhaps caused some unnecessary fouls. Too many mistakes in the game 5.5

Nedved: Fairly invinsible in the game than his usual standards, but did what was needed to be done 6.5

Zlatan: Everything he touches turned to gold. 7

Trezeguet: Goalscorer and sort of set up the second goal, but at other times I thought he could've done better or read a situation better 6.5-7

great win guys, we're 8 points clear as u guys pointed :D

i was disappointed coz Mutu only got to play a few minutes. Vieira and Chiellini sucked! Zambrotta was average at most.

Thuram, my God, he was SUPERB. i'd give him MoM coz Luca "the league's runaway leading scorer who scores in every game" Toni, did not score :D

Balzaretti>Chiellini right guys?
Chiellini might have his faults but I still think hes better than Balzaretti, even by a slim margin. He can slot in some important balls in the Juve area, while from what Ive seen from Balzaretti, none of his crosses or passes really made anything happen. Chiellini just needs to stop being so damn nervous.
