We need to win, it's as simple as that. Roma have a tricky test against Udinese while Milan are at home to Ancona. Both the Giallorossi and the Rossoneri are expected to take maximum points from their encounters, so we must do the same.

Nedved and Trezeguet will surely start as they have been left out of the Coppa squad to face Perugia, and last weekend's hat-trick hero and captain Alex Del Piero will most probably join them in attack.

With Birindelli and Ferrara injured Thuram could make his league comeback, and Legrottaglie could do the same and partner Montero in central defence, though Mark Iuliano is the favourite for that role atm.

Mauro Camoranesi's good form should see him keep his starting place, and the same should apply for Antonio Conte though I'd like to see Maresca in Appiah's place on Sunday.

Predictions? 3-1 to juve.

I have seen osme mpoli games.... and they have lot of problems when reaching the enemy zone.. they dot have too much ideas. Our main problem will be Di natale who is very good and caused a lot of troubles in the first game of the season.

This week we lock horns with Empoli in a late Sunday evening away from the freezing Delle Alpi, and in Empoli’s Carlo Castellani Stadium.

Mind you, it was Empoli’s earthquake last week that hit Inter hard and caused the resignation of Moratti from the presidency of the club. The Tuscans’ morale should be sky high and more is expected from their demanding fans at their own home.

Empoli play with the 4-2-3-1 formation with Rocchi spearheading the attack. He would be supported by Busce, Vannucchi, and Di Natale who failed to reproduce last season’s impressive performance due to numerous injuries. Even though they have a good looking attack, their defensive record is appalling as 30 goals where scored against them, 10 of which at home.

On the other hand, we will be playing in our favourite time of the year (post Christmas) and are already looking good and comfortable in winning matches.

Lippi doesn’t seem content on rushing Legrottaglie and Tacchi back to the team as they slowly regain their top fitness levels. So I guess Iuliano/Tudor will take Legro’s place in central defence to partner Montero, as Ferrara is definitely out. While Conte takes Tacchi’s place in midfield after his good performances in Serie A. This ‘resting’ luxury couldn’t be given to Thuram though, as his direct replacement, Birindelli, got injured himself and thus Thuram will have to be rushed back to patrol the right flank and help out the defenders. The ever consistent Zambro should also be back after Pessotto played on the left against Perugia in the Coppa.

Last time we played Empoli away, we won 2-0 with a brace from capitano Alex. A repeat wouldn’t be a surprise as Alex is in great shape with a sky high confidence after last week’s hatrick. Empoli's defence will surely have a difficult time limiting him. Trezeguet is expected to partner Alex after resting out the Coppa match and news of him extending his contract would certainly be good news for the Juve camp and will hopefully give him a confidence boost in this match.

Expect a good performance from Alex and Camo, with both scoring in a 2-0 win.

PS – Watching Edgar play with Barca in the Copa Del Rey last night didn’t feel good

How he did?
I saw his debut 1-1 draw at home against Bilbao, and he did fine.
