We've looked great when our wingers stretch the game and start really wide. When Cambiaso starts from deep and ventures into midfield to help in the build up and push a CM higher up.
When Cambiaso starts as a winger he slots in to the center and occupy the space that the CM is supposed to push up to, he comes in too high to help with the build up, and we loose our width since no one really occupies the right flank. We've looked static, just like under Allegri.
So why do we keep doing this? When we were forced to due to lack of wingers, then it was understandable. I assume it is because Weah is just coming back from his injury, Conceciao is out and Nico might be tired from the travelling. But I hope this will be the last time we see Cambiaso as a winger. The only worry I have is that the set up we have might become dependent on Cambiaso. Cabal and the rest do venture into and try to occupy the same space when Cambiaso isn't the LB/RB, but they are really poor in that pocket/role. We might need to look for alternatives since Cambiaso can't play every game.
