Why don't people listen to me!
Its easy, Iago is so more impressive then Rossi as a player. Rossi wasn't any special in the games he's played while Iago was running the show and had an assist against Milan. And the whole thing with Bari, we don't know what was going on there. But who cares , really? We know that whenever a young, fun and creative player comes up(GIOVINCO!) they do everything they can to shut them down and don't trust them cuz they are not good defensively. That's Serie A for you.

We just beat Napoli playing a 4-3-1-2 formation...
No we did not, we played a 4-4-2. They showed the formations for both Napoli and Juve at the beggining of the match. Did you not see how Diego drifted from the right wing to the center all the time ? The first goal of him was because he was on the right side of the pitch.

Iago played 10 times the same ball, thats it. Nothing else.
It's ridiculous to pick someone who didn't played half a year over a player like Rossi who did play the whole time and already has Serie A experience. He played very good in the League game against Napoli last year.

Iago played one game in pre Season where he was pretty good. I think he has huge talent and everything but it's ridiculous to pick him now at this time over others.

He certainly played more to the right than normal, but not to such an extent that the formation could be called 4-4-2.

I thought it was more of a sort of 4-3-2-1, with Del Piero and Diego playing off Amauri.

Any formation can be called anything. If Diego was on the right, then he was on the right, you don't need to be a winger to play on the right. 4-4-2 is still 4-4-2. I don't understand how Del Piero is considered as an AMC in your 4-3-2-1, he played as a support striker like he usually does and that usually means he comes back so he can support and be creative for others, not become an AMC all of a sudden

I don't think Del Piero and Diego were playing specific roles, as such.

They were both given a lot of freedom to play off Amauri and ahead of the three man midfield.

Obviously, otherwise my argument on Diego playing on the right as a winger will be played down as well all know he's no winger. Del Piero doesn't need any role of course but he's obviously a creative supporting striker who likes to move around.

I hope Ferrara won't field the static 3 man defensive midfielder again.. Our recent bad performances start from there if i can remember.. We need at least 3 players to create chances other than striker.. So i hope DP, Diego play and if Ferrara want to play Marhi, play Rossi/Iago on the left..

Will De Ceglie repeat his good performance against Napoli? I hope so

Ciro doesn't have a clue regardless what formation we play.
We are just lucky that we can bag any points right now.

Proof about "tactic" is that we play like shit and can loose even from the bootom of the table still win against top team. There is no flow in our game, no game plan only talk about ships and throwing of punches.

I understand we have lots of injured players but its never been only about " quality but also quantity"

I'm fine with any formation as long as we bag 3 point at the end of the match .
    no Amauri please
    Ama is suspended fortunately! :D

I'd rather not see Iago,he is still wet behind the ears since he haven't played any for Bari. We can't depend on him in such a critical situation.
Is Iaqui available for the game? If yes,I'd go with Iaqui-DP up front.

So who'd glady take a risk and give the youngsters a shot?

    Buffon

    Sali-Canna-Chiellini-De Ceglie

    Marchisio-Melo

    Iago-Diego-Paolucci

    Del Piero
I would love to see that formation. There is enough experience and maturity at the back to retain a solid central and right flank defence, and also support De Ceglie. He is the only weak fish, the others can help him swim...and also...he was in fine form against Napoli, and would have the chance to attack down the left, with paolucci/diego to play with, and off.

Melo improved in the last game. Which may seem a false, but lets hope not eh!. Together with Marchisio, the job of protecting the defence, and moving the ball from DEFENCE/GK to our attacking quartet, is easily covered...potentially. Much would depend on Melo, whose mental state has seemed appalling for many months.

The Iago-Diego-Paolucci- DP combination would be wonderful to watch, and surely would create several chances. Though...I don't know much about paolucci. If fit, I would stick in Gio for him.

DP is not great on his own up front, but with three players running nearby, and passed him, this could work.
