Because we were down to 10 men, and needed somebody who would run his ass of to defend, Iaquinta. We really didn't have any other chance today. Specially with the injuries. It was either luck out with a win, or a draw. We drawed, shit happens, get over it.
Iaquinta won every ball thrown at him and fought like a madman.

That last chievo cross was a fluke ball, the way it dropped to Pellisier.

This was just terribly unlucky.
It was correct to take off Quag IMO.

Iaquinta is the right type of player to play up on his own, and is a good outlet for long balls down the channels, which allowed us to to push out when clearing from defence.

I prefer Quag to Iaquinta but I think in this situation Del Neri made the right choice.
Are you fucking crazy? If IQ had to defend and win balls, DN should've subbed him for a defender. The reason we have a striker is to get up front and score a goal when the chance arrives. That's his PRIORITY! IQ is not the best finisher when compared to Quagi. So Quagi should've been there.

Can you tell me how many long passes to IQ were handled and kept instead of losing it and giving possession back to Chievo? IQ is notorious for that. He loses possession, whines like a baby. He's not the right player to play up front on his own. He sucks at doing that!

I would just like to say, as I've said before many times, it would be nice to have Gio running down the left side creating havoc for opposition defenses instead of Pepe.

I've been saying that for two seasons, Andy. I hate to do this to everyone, but I told you so.

We got got.
We got a Flying Donkey? Pellissier?

I know he should've scored, but the Iaquinta bashing, on the basis of this game is unwarranted.
He deserves to be flamed for missing a breakaway. It's typical of him to choke those chances up.

I think he practicvally won all long passes to him today.

Krasic could've done the same. Their LB was on a yellow, so he would've let him stroll away, or got himself sent off. Especially when Chievo finished all 3 subs, Krasic should've monstered that right wing! But it's not just about him. It's about the team passing it to Krasic rather than long-passing it to the vacuum know as Iaquinta!

I love you sheik..
I know that number 9 does better with long balls, but its not like Quag does not know how to do it,he can win long balls, and when losing the balls,he will chase it and usually winning it..and this hate i have for number 9 is not just from this game, its the countless chances he missed..so thanks for the goals number 9 but that is it,i would rather play with quag and krasic than to see number 9 alone upfront

For all the effort Iaquinta can try to put into a match, I'd still rather have a technically able guy who actually does a fair amount of work in the game, who can actually be useful to us in a counter attack.

Half the long balls sent forward are a waste of time anyway, Iaquinta doesn't hold up play.
