Iaquinta won every ball thrown at him and fought like a madman.

That last chievo cross was a fluke ball, the way it dropped to Pellisier.

This was just terribly unlucky.

The thing that still bothers me is we all know,Quag had more rest and is certainly the harder worker, when compared to the crap that is our number 9,so why did Quag get subbed out instead of our beloved number 9
DN prob felt that Iaq is more capable of playing upfront on his own. Quag certainly is the far superior player, but his charachtersitics dont suit being a lone frontman. We would have been no more effective with Quags instead of Iaq.

It was correct to take off Quag IMO.

Iaquinta is the right type of player to play up on his own, and is a good outlet for long balls down the channels, which allowed us to to push out when clearing from defence.

I prefer Quag to Iaquinta but I think in this situation Del Neri made the right choice.

If we don't move in January for a striker and a good Melo back-up, we're not getting a 4th spot.

Just think of Milan, Lazio, Napoli, Roma, Inter and Palermo.

Cavani and Napoli are fucking monstors! They're definitely going to play UCL next season.

Is Del Neri to be blamed for Melo, Sissoko and MArchisio being absent? He didn't really have alternatives to Giandonato. Salihamidzic is finished.

Brazzo was the clown trying to hold it in the corner instead of kicking it out against the player for a corner or a throw in then on the counter Chievo scored. Brazzo was shit when he came on.
Brazzo, as much as I like him, is a finished player anyway. He's been passed it for years now. I'm not sure why he's even on the squad.

Because we were down to 10 men, and needed somebody who would run his ass of to defend, Iaquinta. We really didn't have any other chance today. Specially with the injuries. It was either luck out with a win, or a draw. We drawed, shit happens, get over it.

Del Neri does deserve blame. But Brazzo isn't a central midfielder, nor has he started there in years. He's also very capable of getting red cards in positions he's not familiar with.
:agree:

It's not right to play Sali in the midfield. Even with Gian sent off, we should've finished off out chances. We should've won this 2-0 or 3-0 and killed Chievo's will to win.

Not if you want to get a goal out of nowhere.

correct, and this is why we had no choise but to play the young kid.

So what your saying is that its not a big deal that the absence of one player is the difference between us getting 1 point and 3. Thats a pretty big deal.
we lost 2 points because none of our dm's where avaibale
thats not a big deal, thats bad luck

if all our dm's would been fit and ready and aqua was in his usual role and we played like this, THEN is would be a big deal.

but people like to trow shit when the team has a setback and forget the circumstances far to easely

You can't blame the "overrated youngsters" when the overrated old farts can't put the ball in the back of the net.

There are too many positions that need to be strengthened. Two fullback slots and a forward. Judging by how missed chances seem to cost us the most, I'd prefer signing a poacher if possible.
I've been saying that for two seasons, Andy. I hate to do this to everyone, but I told you so.

We got got.

Disagreed. It wasn't a fluke that Chievo scored, their players outwitted ours on enough occasions during the match with awful finishing. They pressured enough, and it's not the first time they've done this on their own turf.

Dude, you don't miss one on ones like the one IQ did. You simply don't. It doesn't matter how hard he fought. His job is to put the ball in the back of the net. If he didn't get a chance to do it, I won't blame him, but Krasic sent him through with no one left to beat but the keeper and he couldn't finish.

This isn't the first time I've seen this from IQ either. He seems to have trouble with easy finishes and that's what kills me. In this game, we desperately needed that goal and he choked. It's that simple; the guy choked and we lost a great opportunity to stay second.

I know he should've scored, but the Iaquinta bashing, on the basis of this game is unwarranted.
