The only issue is, considering his age, can he hold it up for an entire season? I'd think not
I don't get all this talk that Pirlo should be rested, that he can't endure all season long? Nonsense...

He's trained athlete, not very old( slightly passed or just on the edge of his best playing years), he's gonna play one game a week, he's not too much of a runner, doesn't cover too much field, not very injury prone player etc. etc....

On this level I see him playing for 3-4 years more :agree:

If Conte really believes in rewarding players over good performances, Quag needs to get a chance. Sure it was just a Serie D side but what more should he do? He deserves a chance to show what kind of shape he's in.

He should have scored at least 10 to be rewarded a spot on the bench - 20 for a start

Pirlo is only 32, granted not young he certainly isn't "old" yet. He needs to start, if in the event we go up by two goals then take him out to rest him, the game then should be under control unless you are playing Catania in the 2010-2011 season. :shifty:

Regardless, Pirlo needs to play regularly. If he stays away from gametime injuries and niggles he needs to keep playing. Once our wingers start providing more for the team we really need Pirlo.

 Everyone talks about Pirlo like he is a geriatric fuck. He's only 32, Del Piero is almost 37....I think it's because he looks about 45.

He was more than world class for them up until about 2007.
That is undoubtedly true.

For sure, he wasn't performing well in the last 2-3 years for them but as acmilan explained, it had much more to do with the lack of movement in that Milan team and tactics than with Pirlo. After about 2007, Milan was playing a very, very static style and in the last 2-3 years, Pirlo was just giving the ball to Ronaldinho all the time.

He certainly isn't as good as he used to be in 2003-2007, considering his physical decline but he is still great.

Could've been a lack of motivation too. Right now, he looks like a man possessed.

Anyway, it's only be 3 games so far, but his performances for us really have been on a world class level that Juve fans haven't witnessed from an individual player in so long.

Pirlo is actually more useful in a 4-2-4. The space that he has in the midfield and the number of options he has are both increased. I really hate it when people say he needs to be in a 4-3-3. Maybe AT TIMES defensively that is best. But how can that work better offensively for him? Look at all the space he has in the midfield. He turns one guy and he has all day to pick passes because our wingers spread the field well. Then he has an extra option up front. Offensively, Pirlo is made for this system. It's no coincidence he looks like a fucking god right now.

First half of the Milan practice game, he was Milan Pirlo.
2nd Half he came out Juventus style.

His mobility hasn't surprised me at all. At 32, it's just a question of gym work/training which Conte obviously made it clear, he needs to improve... and to his credit, as a champion, he's taken the gauntlet.
