Montella: 'Juve loss good for football'
Vincenzo Montella argues Catania’s victory over Serie A leaders Juventus “would be good for football.”
The Bianconeri travel to Sicily on Sunday afternoon and are joint top of the table with Udinese and Genoa.

“Of course beating Juventus would be good for us, for football, for the table and for the fans,” said the Coach.

“We want to fight back after our loss to Genoa. It’s going to be a difficult game for Catania, but just as tough for Juve. I expect them to come here aggressive, compact, tight and able to defend with 10 men when needed.

“However, unlike our last home match with Siena, we will keep the centre of the team 30 metres further forward. We often don’t make the right decision in the final third and that has to change.”

Montella was asked if he already feels under pressure after the 3-0 thumping in Genoa midweek.

“I am relaxed and firmly seated on the bench. I know what the club thinks and I doubt they’d put the Coach in the balance after one defeat. I really do feel respect from them.”

Montella and Antonio Conte are among the youngest tacticians in the top flight.

“We know each other, as we were in the Euro 2000 squad together. He is tenacious, determined and presents a simple but efficient style of football that focuses on detail throughout the game.”

Mariano Izco returns to the Catania fold, though Marco Biagianti, Alessandro Potenza, Nicola Legrottaglie and Cristian Llama are injured.

Catania squad: Andujar, Campagnolo, Kosicky; Alvarez, Bellusci, Capuano, Marchese, Spolli; Barrientos, Delvecchio, Ledesma, Lodi, Ricchiuti, Sciacca, Izco, Almiron; Bergessio, Catellani, Gomez, Lanzafame, Lopez, Suazo

In last three games Catania showed absolutly nothing. Scored just one goal from penalty kick. If we play just like in the last games I really don't see how they can hurt us. Only on some hyper-motivation stuff, I suppose.

Why don't people think Matri can play as a lone striker?
in a 4231 or a 433?

I think he would do just fine. He did OK when he was alone against Bologna, he just needs outlets from the wingers, but I think if he had the right service/space opened up by movement pulling defenders, he would be OK.
