Trez eager for Cagliari chance Saturday 15 January, 2005

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

David Trezeguet made an impressive comeback midweek and claims he is ready to start against Cagliari on Sunday evening.

“I will definitely be in Sardinia and I certainly expect to play at least some of the game,” explained the Juve striker.

He had not stepped on to the field since undergoing shoulder surgery in early October, but has lost none of his spark by scoring one goal in the 3-3 Coppa Italia tie against Atalanta and seeing another incorrectly disallowed.

“I am at Coach Fabio Capello’s full disposal and I’ll accept any decision he makes. He knows I am ready to play when he thinks the time is right.”

Trezeguet’s return to full fitness will bring up some issues for the Coach, such as how he’ll fit into the system with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Del Piero, or if the Italian will be benched altogether to make room.

“I can assure you the Atalanta game did not tire me out and I feel good,” assured Trezeguet. “A couple of days are more than enough to get my energy levels back up. It was the comeback I was hoping for, with a goal and a good overall performance.”

Juve squad: 1 Buffon, 4 Montero, 7 Pessotto, 8 Emerson, 9 Ibrahimovic, 10 Del Piero, 11 Nedved, 12 Chimenti, 16 Camoranesi, 17 Trezeguet, 18 Appiah, 19 Zambrotta, 20 Blasi, 21 Thuram, 22 Bonnefoi, 23 Kapo, 24 Olivera, 25 Zalayeta, 27 Zebina, 28 Cannavaro

I'm back.....

Happy to see you Vinman. You're one of the few who aren't afraid to tell it how it is.

As long as we don't make the same silly defensive mistakes as last week against Livorno, we should be able to grind out a positive result. Having Trez back is a huge boost.

The only doubt Capello has in his mind in regards to the starting line-up for tonight's game is who partners Zlatan from the start, Trez or DP?

dont know why but i have that feeling inside that we are gonna see an alex-trezi partnership at some point in the match.
Mybe am just dreaming or hoping.

the thing that capello has to keep in mind is that , the alex-trezi partnership is a very succesfull one. They played together many times, and i would like to see it again.

Also it would interesting to see wat would be the defensive duties of both camo, neddy, zebina, and zambro.Since both esposito and Langella like to play out wide that is.

Also here i go again about neddy, i want to get back in form in this match, we need him back now more than ever.Cuz basically the more trezi plays, the less opportunities have to be made more by the midfield players, camo and emo are doin there jobs now its neddys time.

forzaa juvee 2-0

I remember how Langella toyed with Inter's defence and am glad he is fighting for his position. I think he is more dangerous than Esposito. With his speed & strength he is a handful for most defences.

who wants to bet that at the end of the season Milan will end up 3rd behind Juventus and Inter?
