You mean last year? Last season's Juve wasn't better than the season before's Bilbao?

Yes, Llorente scored a lot of goals last year, yes he's a good player. But Juve's attack does not always revolve around him. Juve has other options. Better team, more options. That's my only point.

You were comparing the service he received in Spain to the service he received today. My role in this discussion was to explain why Llorente doesn't get that service for Juve. If you wanna talk about teams relying on players we can do that, but that has little to do with the discussion we're having.
No, 11/12. He doesn't get that service because TODAY we have other and maybe more important players. I'm talking about 11/12, our team would love to have someone like him to give services to, or did you forget what we had in our attacking line then?

He would be just as important and be relied on in that 11/12 Juve as he was in that 11/12 Bilbao. That's my point. Our team wasn't any better than theirs then and needed someone to rely on just as much as theirs.

But he didn't play for the 11/12 team.:D

He didn't sign until 2013. Which was a step up.

I know, bro. I'm just imagining this scenario to reason that he did good in 11/12 Bilbao not because they were a "mid-table" club but because Bielsa built a good team the knew how to service their main attacker and it worked like a charm for Llorente.

I'm certain if we were to go back in time, specifically 11/12, people here would rather have a team relying on a guy who could score 25+ goals a season than the shit we had then. Drawventus surely would have loved to service a main attacker who could actually score.

I don't really know what to think of a game that was basically over after Vidal's goal.
I think we should have continued hammering them to arserape them prison style, but seems like the guys were more thinking of resting before monday's final. Ogbonna MoM for me although Arturo's goal was a ballistic masterpiece.

It was a bit of an odd game really. Good result going into the Supercoppa and the break. We seemed comfortable and never really looked troubled. However, while it wasn't a bad performance by any means, I certainly wouldn't call it good either. Take the 3 points and move on.

The game was finished after 15 mins. Players were in auto-pilot mode after that, with the sole focus being not to risk any yellow cards and not too push themselves too much. Professional performance.

No doubt. I don't dispute that at all. It just would've been nice I think to put in a clinical performance and absolutely put them to the sword, rather than canter home, particularly after a few lacklustre weeks.

I watched the game yesterday and I'd pick Vidal as my MoM even though Ogbonna was very good - our second best player in the game.

The game was pretty much finished after 15 - 20 minutes and it looked a bit weird seeing our players unwilling to move forward and try to score some more. They were happy to keep the ball on our half passing it around nicely but I still think they made too many mistakes and giveaways. It was a good training of keeping possession though.

Vidal was fabulous IMO. Beautiful goal and some very good tackles and interceptions reminded me of the old good Vidal. Hopefully he'll carry it over to next year, we'll definitely need it. Ogbonna was very good, second match in a row. He never looked good in 3 man backline, luckily we don't play it anymore. With this kind of form and performances he's definitely good enough to be a rotation CB for Chiellini and Bonucci.
Tevez looked dead-tired and Pereyra while being better than against Samp he offered too little IMO. He had a couple of good flicks, crosses/passes and also two very good chances to score but wasted those horribly. He has to offer more, too often he goes missing. He should drop to wings more too, to help stretching the play IMO.
Llorente wasn't that good besides the goal but he finally scored. Evra and Licht were pretty good. Pirlo and Marchisio duplicate themselves a little bit IMO, with them the ball is distributed nicely around the field though.
